I remember everything like it was yesterday, the sky was crimson red above Imp city, and it was a normal Tuesday at the office, M & M were in the conference area, probably making love all over the table, lucky me I have a camera jammed in the corner. Loona was at her desk watching Voxtube on her desktop, which looked like some stupid press conference by Lucifer on 666, and finally, me, the name is Blitz, but I'm sure you've already figured that out. I was sitting in my office talking to Stolas over the phone about our "Relationship" now that Stella was out of the picture, isn't that ironic right? Anyway, just as Stolas said something about how he was excited about our next meet-up, the red light on my desk phone lit up, which meant somebody was on hold on one of the lines on the phone, I called out to Looni, asking her who it was, "Hey Looni, who'd you send over to the desk phone?", but her response made me shutter slightly, as she yelled back, "What the hell are you talking about? We haven't gotten a call since this morning.". "But that's impossible," I said under my breath in a moment of fear, the only person who could be calling my phone directly was Stolas, but he was still talking away on my cell, "Uh, Stolas, could you call me back? I got a client calling," I asked him with a slight shiver in my voice, scared to pick up the phone that now began ringing on my desk, "Oh, alright Blitzy, I will talk to you again soon!" Stolas spoke in the usual flustered fast-paced manner, he used over the phone with me, and then I heard the small click as he hung up his fancy gold trim telephone. I turned my head toward the phone on the desk, it continued ringing, as I braced myself for whoever could be waiting on the other end of the line. With a shaky hand, I reached out & grabbed the receiver, lifting it to my ear & attempting to return to a normal tone of voice as I spoke into it, "Hello, thank you for calling I.M.P., who's head we going after today?", my performance was lackluster at best, I knew he could hear the slight sense of fear in my voice, at first I heard only silence from the other end of the line, had they hung up on me? No, if they had I would be hearing a dial tone, not silence, but just as I was about to hang up the phone, I heard a deep raspy voice from the other end say my name, "Hey, is this Blitz?", I lifted the phone back up to my ear, "Yep, that's me." I spoke into the phone, now with slightly more fear than before, his voice sounded vaguely familiar, but I just couldn't place my finger on why, "Ah, it's nice to finally talk with you, I've been trying to reach out to your company for days." His voice sent shivers down my spine, it almost sounded like Death itself was on the phone, but even I knew that wasn't possible, "Well, congratulations, you've finally reached us, Mr...?", I realized he hadn't yet introduced himself, "You can call me 'The Shadow Client'." He spoke, sounding more like a statement than an introduction, "Anyway, I think we both know why I called, I need you to make a few heads roll for me." I gulped out of fear, I'm not sure why this guy scared me so much, I suppose it was just the circumstances surrounding the call, yes it was my job to kill people, but the way he spoke made it sound like I was gonna be killing royalty... "Well, that's my job, so you give me some names, and I'll give you a price." I finally managed to snap out of the fearful trance as the thought of money filled my mind, I was behind on my apartment's rent, and if I didn't get a big time opportunity soon, I was gonna have to lay off Mox & Mill's, so I guess that was weighing down on me when the following decision occurred. "Just one little thing I should mention before I start," The voice had said as I grabbed my pen & paper to write down the names of our soon-to-be victims, "Oh yeah, and what might that be?" I asked while tapping my pen against the desk in anticipation, "You're gonna be operating down here for my hit-list." The words hit me like a bag of bricks, I made it clear in all the publication for I.M.P that we specifically operated in the mortal realm, and would only kill humans, "I-im sorry? I think I misheard you, sir, cause it sounded like you just said-", "That I need you to kill other demon's, is that gonna be a problem?" I almost turned him down, dammit why didn't I turn him down, we wouldn't be in this mess if I had just said no dammit, but instead I stopped myself, and with the thought of possibly losing my employees & home weighing my decision, I said "no sir, not a problem at all! ", and that single sentence was the start of the worst decision I've ever made. "Excellent! Then let's get started, I'm gonna need you to take out Stella & Andrealphus Goetia." My heart stopped for a moment, did he say, Goetia? If he wanted us to take out Stella & her piece of shit brother who was to say they wouldn't ask us to kill Stolas or Octavia? Again, I should have said no, I should have turned him down & set that phone on fire, but I was desperate for the money, so I wrote down their names & address, "Alright, but just so you know, Royalty costs extra, so this will be about $20,000,000 upfront.", "Oh, I would expect nothing less, just let me know when it's done, and try your best to keep it under wraps.". "Done, we'll talk again real soon.", "Oh, I'm sure we will." I hung up the phone in a hurry after that, I had never even told him where to send the money, but it appeared in my bank account less than an hour later, and that's how this whole thing started, that one call is what led me and my closest friends to start a journey of killing the unkillable, all for the same shadow client. So with the backstory out of the way. The real story can begin, oh, shit, I'm getting another call, I'll update again tomorrow.
