Knock knock!
I opened my eyes briefly before quickly shutting them from the blinding morning sun. I grabbed my phone off of the dresser in a tired slump. It was 8 a.m.
Knock knock!
I was replaying the events from last night in my mind. Everything about him was so perfect. I never tried to kiss anyone on the first date; actually, I was never this flirtatious with anyone. Mark brought something out of me, something better. The kid in me would start dancing around every time I was near him. Did I lo-
Knock knock!
"Who is it," I called out from my bedroom. There was no reply, just another two knocks. I let out a frustrated sigh before storming towards the door. I hated being woken up, especially after this move. I needed the sleep.
"Oh this better be good because so hel-." Mark was standing in front of me with a plate of pancakes and orange juice.
"I-I'm sorry," Mark uttered, "I just thought you'd need food since you haven't had time to go to the store. Gah I'm so dumb! I-"
"This is so sweet," I said in awe, "come inside, we can talk about our collab."
"Well actually, " Mark said while closing the door behind us, "I was hoping we could talk about other things."
"Such as?"
Mark took a seat across from me. His hair was strewn all over the place, but it suited him in a way. He was wearing a tight fighting white shirt and black sweatpants. I really wanted that creeper mug he always had in the mornings.
"Whatever you want that isn't YouTube related," Mark said with a chuckle.
"Well I had a great time yesterday. "
"Oh did you," Mark asked with that sexy smirk of his.
"Yeah I haven't felt that way since-"
What is wrong with me!?
"Since?"
"A long time." The orange juice went down a lot slower after that question. Mark and I looked at eachother before I continued eating.
"I don't mean to pry you for answers," Mark looked away from me before adding, "wanna know what part was my FAVEY?"
"When," I asked while giggling.
"When you leaned in to kiss me," Mark said while smirking once again. My face immediately heated up with the color of a ripe tomato.
"That is where you are mistaken Mark," I said while standing up. I tried to look confident, but fumbled on the way up. My chair fell to the floor and I scrambled to pick it up. McSmooth right here folks.
"Oh really," Mark asked while standing up and coming closer to me. A smile was plastered on his face.
"I never kiss someone on the first date!"
"There's a first time for everything, " Mark said while taking a sip from his mug nonchalantly.
"I-I was just trying to blow out imaginary candles! It's what I always do on first dates! Yeah! Silly, you thought I was puckering for that? Honest mistake!"
Mark started laughing after my terrible lie. Why would anyone ever do that as a tradition! ?
"Then I had to try my hardest last night not to blow out 'imaginary candles' and believe me, it was difficult."
Mark came so close to me that my body was pressed against the counter and almost him. His hands were placed on both sides of me, creating a barrier I couldn't escape from. I wanted to kiss him so badly, but I didn't want to make the same mistake as yesterday. If this was a game, I definitely didn't want to play.
"M-mark I-" my breath hitched as he placed one soft, gentle kiss on my neck. His nose was on my neck as I felt his breath on me. This new Mark was very different.
My hands automatically went to his shoulders, inviting him to continue. A few more kisses were placed on my neck before he came up to smile at me, noses touching. His fingertips lightly graced my upper thigh, briefly making my nightgown rise up. He then continued that motion, giving me chills.
"This is a lot different from that hippo onesie you had on yesterday, " Mark said with a quiet chuckle.
I couldn't help but smile at that. I had never felt a connection this strong with anyone.
"There are a lot of things different here Mark," I said as he put a stray hair behind my ear with his free hand.
I leaned in as Mark did the same. I ran my fingers through his hair. Our lips were so close, like two magnets.
Ring ring!
I looked over Mark's shoulder to see my phone ringing.
"Who is it," Mark asked, hair looking even messier than it did when he first walked in.
"I'm not sure."
I walked over to the table to see the worst thing possible: my ex was calling. Dammit! I let out a groan of pure frustration.
"Is he the reason you've been down," Mark said, startling me slightly.
"He uhm," I could feel the tears starting to well up, "before I came here he broke up with me. He told me he had found someone else. He was cheating on me. I don't know how long. He said if I wanted to be broke and homeless not to bring him down with it. We had a big fight that night."
Mark wrapped me in his arms and gave me a kiss on the forehead. "It's ok y/n you're going to do great I know you will. I don't like seeing you like this. Do you have feelings for him?"
"No I just want this whole cycle to stop." I pressed my face against Mark's chest.
"Let me talk to him," Mark said while grabbing my phone.
"Mark no it'll just make things worse." I put my hand on top of his arm, slowly moving towards his hand leaving him speechless. I could feel every muscle. He placed the phone back down on the table.
"You're lucky you're cute y/n. I wish a certain girl in this building thought I was cute."
"Oh really, " I said in amusement, "tell me about her."
"Well, she's very pretty and just moved here," Mark paused before adding, "I think I'm moving too fast. I don't know what has gotten in to me."
"I think she likes you."
"What makes you say that," Mark teased.
"She told me. She thinks you're really cute and sweet."
"Wow really? Good thing I'm hanging out with her later. Loser gets a plate of whipped cream in their face!"
"Wait what?!"
"Buh-bye y/n. Get ready to lose!"
"Mark! Ugh you're so UGH!"
"I like you more now buh-byeeee."
Mark left my apartment and left me speechless. What just happened? ! I almost kissed Markiplier! ? I let my legs bring me to the warm shower; my mind was far too transfixed on Mark to think of anything else. It felt like a dream, but I knew it was an unfamiliar reality. A reality where I was happy with someone else. I didn't need my ex. In an hour I'd be doing a collab with Mark, the guy of my dreams.
