When I quit the stable yet misogyny-laden office job I've kept for so many years, the only thought that crossed my mind was "thank god I'm free of these assholes". Never had it occurred to me to look for another job beforehand. Luckily, a friend I had made in India made a job referral to her brother on my behalf. Unfortunately, he was a world-renowned billionaire and just as likely to be an asshole as my former boss and colleagues, if not more.
When I checked in with the receptionist she said, "Mr. Hiddleston would like to see you promptly." Fuck. Have I gotten in trouble already?
I walked into a surprisingly small office. Behind a small standard desk sat the most gorgeous man I have ever met.
"Ms. l/n I presume," he greeted me."Welcome to Hiddleston Industries."
I couldn't break my gaze away from his light blue eyes that twinkled in the light. They reminded me of the ocean.
He cleared his throat and I realized a bit too late I was staring. "Thank you, sir."
"Please, call me Tom," he gave me a small smile that showed his dimples.
"Have you modeled?" I blurted out.
I cursed myself mentally but he just laughed, flashing another charming smile. "I dabbled."
He gestured to the chair in front of him and I sank into the seat without thinking twice. "My sister informed me of your treatment at your former job."
Of course she did. My cheeks burned up, but he just gave me a sympathetic smile. "I would like to offer my sincerest apologies and assure you that you'll receive the utmost respect here."
"Thank you si– I mean Tom."
"Of course." He reached out and clasped his hands with mine. They were warm and comforting and I had to pull away before my palms got too clammy.
He kept looking at me before finally leaning back in his chair. "I'll have my assistant show you around."
"Okay." I got up, as did he, and I finally saw the rest of him, including his towering height. I had the irrational urge to see him naked, but I repressed it quickly.
Like a gentleman, he held the door open for me as I stepped out. This new job wasn't looking so bad after all.
