Daring gold eyes examined the unrecognisable calligraphical words on the bottom of the parchment paper. Each curve of the black inky lines were distorted then the other. It began to creep on him little by little as he analysed it further.
What kind of scheme was Diana planning now by making her signature unrecognisable? If this was some kind of plot to keep their engagement from annulling, then what was her preaching from before all about?
Damon placed the parchment of their annulment on the table and leaned against his chair. He hung his head up high and let out an exhausted sigh. Damon was tired with Diana's bullshit and just wanted some peace from all the matters he had to deal with years ago because of her as well as Diana herself.
Even if it's just a little peace will do. Pinching the bridge of his nose and rubbing it around in repeated circles, he was already getting a headache from all this.
As much as it was over between the two of them, there was that lingering feeling of déjà vu beginning to crawl slowly from the back of his mind. Just looking at the paper had brought back Diana's words to him like an echo bouncing off the walls.
'I'm not some unfinished paperwork you can come back to whenever you like.' The unfamiliar tone of her voice was still fresh in his mind. Cold and brutal. Not like the fake innocent voice she would plaster up to get his attention. It was probably another one of her annoying schemes to get him interested in her.
He traced his fingers through his dark raven hair, moving away the loose ends of his hair that hang down to his eyes. "It's all over. I already got what I wanted in the end. There is no reason for me to dwell on it" he assured himself.
When he thought he could get some needed sleep because of last night's banquet ended far later then he assumed it would and having to wake up earlier to go to Marcus's estate for the annulment, the door flung open with a loud swoosh.
In waltzed the young prince of Terra, strolling in the crown prince's study as if he owned the place. His messy oak brown hair swayed lightly above his eyes and a smug expression was plastered on his face.
Damon eyes sliced dangerously at Edmond and a cold stern look had made the young prince stop in his steps and grin a toothy smile. "Apologies if I interrupted his royal highness with his duties" the Terra prince mocked with a bow that irritated the crown prince of Aureum.
From afar Edmond could see Damon's annoyed expression. Face stern cold, his brows frowning down and his lips pursed together. Seeing this made Edmond's day.
"What's with the grumpy look? Has the annulment of your engagement with Diana taken a toll on you already?" he said teasingly.
The young prince was told by Damon that he was going to the Glacies estate to annul his engagement with Diana, yet Edmond was not allowed to come along because Damon didn't want things to go sour. The crown prince already knew how much the two quarrelled with each other because of their hate to one another.
