D/n- Dad's name

NARRATOR'S P.O.V

Everything in your life was going about normally. You had just your dad, because your mom had disappeared after you were born, and had left your dad devastated. Your dad was a (tall/short/average) height guy who was (big/buff/scrawny). He never drank and had never smoked, and he was pretty healthy. (A/n: That'd be a perfect life for me...)
Anyways, he had sworn to himself that he will never love another woman again. He loved your mother way too much. But enough with the sadness, he still had you as a wonderful daughter. Your dad had a unique job at Disney World. He had been the roller coaster designer who'd built the huge, fun, safe, and amazing rides at the Disney World roller coaster theme park (A/n: Haven't ever been on a roller coaster, and haven't been to Disney for a while, so please correct me if I'm wrong. Don't criticize, please).
He let you go all around Disney World with Maisy, your dad's old friend from middle school. Maisy was a short (A/n: not midget short, mind you) brunette with freckles spotted all over her. To you she was pretty, and she was very kind to you and your dad. She was also a Disney Princess, too. Every week she was a different Disney Princess. One time she was dressed as Snow White and another time she was Aurora (you get the point). You were young and enjoying your innocent youthful life with Maisy and your dad.
But something happened one day that changed your whole life.
You were 6 years old, you and Maisy had roamed around Disney World as always.
"Oh, I forgot something. Stay right here!" Maisy said, giving you get kind, warm smile. She had told you to wait right next to the food court.
You waited and waited, and finally Maisy came back with two small, red pins. Before she could put one of them on you, you heard people gasping and screaming. You shuffled over towards a crowd. Due to your small intelligence and huge curiosity as a child, you ignored Maisy's complaints and kept walking into the crowd to hear what they were gasping and chattering about. Turns out, they were talking about a guy falling off a roller coaster track while trying to readjust it.
Your dad had told you that morning that he had to 'readjust' a ride, and had promised that you two would hang out the rest of the day after he'd finished. "I promise that I won't be too occupied with my work, and I'll see you afterwards. Okay, sweetie? Love 'ya." Your dad said, and jogged off with an older man to fix a ride.

You frantically whispered, "It's not him. It's not him," but you knew better. That was your dad's ride that he'd built, and that was the ride that needed 'readjusting'.
Someone gasped and had came to their realization that it had looked like someone familiar to them. The old man who your dad had jogged off with, snapped his fingers and said the dreadful words, "D/n! D/n fell!"
You finally broke down. You screamed and cried and told the fire fighters who'd just arrived, "Go! Go find my daddy! Please! He's got to be somewhere! He promised me that we'll see each other again!" You choked between sobs and screamed at the newly arrived police officers and fire fighters, and you even yelled at Maisy because all they told you was "We can't find him honey" or "Y/n, he might be gone...like gone gone to...heaven." Eventually you had to give up and believe them, but you never stopped believing 'What if he just walked away and he wasn't the guy who fell off the track' or 'He might've lost his memory when he hit the ground, woke up, walked away, and never even knew he was your dad'.
'No.' You thought. That would be too painful to take in. Besides there was a slim chance of the guy not being your dad (bc he's the only guy who'd been working around that ride and area besides the old man). The officers told you to wait in their police car while they had talked to Maisy. You heard the officer and Maisy's conversation and it went like this: Officer- "M'am does the little girl have another guardian?" Maisy- "No sir" Officer- "Well, she's gonna have to go to the orphanage, unless you wanna take her in?" You heard the officer mention that Maisy could care for you, and why not? Maisy liked you and she was kind and funny and smart and caring, until you heard a single word that had ruined your entire life (A/n: Just the human life, not your Whole life). You heard Maisy say "No". There was a pause. "I'm sorry officers, but I can't raise a child on my own. I barely have enough money to pay for my rent at my apartment", Maisy said. You slouched down lower on the back seat until your feet hit the bottom of the car. "Okay. I guess we'll have to take this little one to the orphanage. Poor her. It's a shame her dad's fate had to end like this", the officer said. "Wait, can I talk to Y/n one last time before she goes?" Maisy asked. "Sure, take all the time you need."
Maisy opened the police car and sat down next to you. "Hey, how you holding up there kiddo?" You didn't answer, instead you looked down at your shoes. "Look. Listen, Y/n. Don't blame yourself for what had happened and don't blame anyone else for it either, okay?" You nodded solemnly. "Here, I want you to have this to remember me by."
Then, Maisy handed you the small pin she had a while ago. 'Thanks Maisy' was all you could manage.
"Don't ever lose that pin, and pin it to your shirt everyday, okay." When Maisy had said 'okay' it didn't sound like a question she would be asking, instead it sounded like a command. "Okay" you said. "Okay. Bye Y/n." Was Maisy's last words before she got out of the car. Before she got out of your life.
You couldn't help but notice that Maisy's glint in her eyes had an unnatural gleam of white. You decided not to bother that. The officers finally took you to "Winther's Orphanage For Kids". You looked behind the orphanage and saw a black forest and signs that said 'KEEP OUT' and 'DANGEROUS!', and etc. . .
"Well here we are, young lady. Your new home." Then the officer left you alone in front of your 'new home'. You looked back and the police car was gone. You were just wondering about how alone would you get. Turns out, it would be a long time.
