Thunder cried out into the night as lightning was the only mere source of light. The wind vigorously blew, causing the waves to become even more violent. The old aging wood of the ship creaked and groaned as it was forced to stay on task.
Shouts and desperate yells sounded all around as the ship's crew dashed around to keep the ship from fully merging into the icy cold waters.
"My lady!" A voice desperately yelled, as the figure clutched onto his hat. "We have to surrender!" A boom was heard as a large cannon ball merged into the water.
A woman in trousers and a dirtied shirt whipped around, dangerously eyeing the crew member. Her soaked hair whipped around in her dirtied face as her eyebrows furrow.
"And who are you to tell me what to do?" The woman spoke, raising her voice so she could be heard over the rain and thunder. The crew member flinched at her gaze as more shouts were heard over head.
"D-don't get me wrong my lady!" The crew member stuttered. "It's just we're cornered like rats."
The woman trailed her gaze over to the other ships that were firing cannons towards the occupied ship. Her lips drew thin. Her eyes flickered back over to the panicked man as she opened her mouth to speak.
"Keep going straight. Don't change courses." She firmly spoke as the man's eyes grew wide.
"But-"
"That's an order."
The man gulped, quickly nodding. He turned around to the rest of the crew before shouting.
"You heard the lady!" He shouted. "Don't change courses!"
Muttering rang out all around the crew as their eyes enlarged. But nonetheless, they did as ordered.
"Hit the sails!"
Shouting rang all around as the crew scrambled around .
"There are rocks straight ahead!" A panicked yell rung out. Large rocks rest right ahead. The woman's eyes narrow.
"My Lady what should we-"
"Keep going straight."
The man's eyes widen.
"What-?"
"You heard me. I specifically said to not change courses. Didn't I?"
Doubt was plastered on his face but he reluctantly nodded nonetheless. The ship continued its dangerous course towards the rocks. Fear and uncertainty was tainting the air. The sounds of cannons being blasted and nature's tantrum filled the tense air.
