Silent kisser

Intro, chapter 1

SPOILER WARNING: season 3 and later.

I sit up and open the window. The sun has just come up, it's so early. I don't really enjoy waking up early but we have a lot of things to prepare for war so waking up early is essential.
I look over to Mikasa, she's still sleeping. I walk over to her side of the room to wake her up. "Come on Mikasa, we have work to do." I say.

Before we became roommates I thought she'd be the type of person to always wake up early, but to my surprise she likes to sleep in. She wakes up and looks at me. "Morning" she mumbles. We put on our uniforms and head to the dining hall for breakfast. This is just my first week here.

I knew Armin before this and we met again years later. I never knew he joined the survey corps. When I walked into him in the city he told me to start training to join aswell. I was always strong as a child, so I agreed. Shadis trained me and after 2 years I was ready to join my friend in the fight. They allowed me to join the 15th devision because they lost so many people while fighting for Shiganshina against the beast. I only got to meet Erwin once, he was a good guy.

We headed to the dining hall and to our surprise Connie and Jean were already there. "Hey sleepyheads, where did you hide Armin" Mikasa asked. "He's coming in a moment, that idiot didn't wanna get out of his bed today" Connie responded. "Really?" I said "Armin? Late? That's new" we laughed while walking to a free table to sit.

3 minutes later Armin walked in looking stressed. "Heya Armin, not a morning person I see." I say. Armin laughs. "I didn't sleep well okay! Ill be on time tomorrow like always I promise". This was the first time in a while we had a lively breakfast. Everything's been different since Eren left.

"So, how did you guys sleep?" Jean said. Armin just grinned and continued eating his stew. Mikasa and Connie both responded with "alright" and continued eating aswell. "I slept pretty well, what about you Jean?" I say. "Pretty bad to be honest, but it's okay. I'll just go sleep a little earlier tonight." "Ah damn, need me to sing you a lullaby?" I say sarcastically. The group laughs.

After breakfast I quickly snatch Jean away from Connie and Armin to talk. "So, you look like you haven't slept at all. Why is that?" I say. "I was thinking about Sasha again. I miss her so much." "I know you do." I say. "But we can't reverse time. How about you try to look at it from a different perspective. She was an amazing friend. I think it would upset her so see you so devastated about her passing." "You're right." Jean says "i shouldn't be sad because it ended, I should be happy because I got to be her friend."
"Exactly." I say. I hug him. He feels warm, like he cried.
