they weren't officially together, they'd slept together like twice and had only been seeing each other for about a week however, she couldn't help but feel like she had betrayed him.

el saw pope's headlights coming through the bedroom window of the house that rafe was staying in, he was still sleeping and she managed to sneak out without him waking up.
she got into the truck and engulfed pope in a hug "im sorry" she began to cry.
"hey, hey ellie it's okay" he assured "what's going on?"
"i fucked up pope" she sobbed into his shoulder "it's really bad"
"you can tell me anything" pope looked at her solemnly "i won't tell anyone i promise you"
"i did it again" she was afraid to see his reaction.
"did what?" he asked.
"i used again" she sniffled "i was pissed off about the shit that went down earlier today and everyone looked at me differently when i only did it once so i just figured what's once more-"
"hey... it's okay" he firmly grabbed her shoulders "you made a mistake and that's ok, you had a bad day and did something stupid... we've all done that"
"it's not just that" she wiped her eyes "i slept with rafe again"
"are you gonna tell jj?" he asked
"i have to" el nodded.
"are you guys together?"
"i don't know" el ran her fingers through her hair "not officially i guess... but after our fight today i don't know".
"then it could be worse, first you need to figure out if you were even together when you slept with rafe... then go from there ok?" pope was shockingly calm... for pope.
elaine nodded, hugging pope tightly again.
"you're a good person ok ellie?" he assured her before starting the truck and pulling out of the driveway.
