// Scarborough Wednesday June 4th 2040 12:05 am //
It was raining, that was to be expected when you are close to the sea. But something about it being late makes it strangely beautiful, thought Toby while driving.
Going to their friend close by Scarborough had been quite the adventure but it was getting late and They decided to find a hotel to stay at for the night. It was the smartest idea they had so far.
They drove to the side of the road and stopped the car to pull out their phone. Searching for hotels in their area to stay at when they found one that looked nice. Sea view hotel the rooms looked good enough it was pretty cheap so win win! although it was weird that there hadn't been any reviews in a while. Eh, who cares maybe people just don't do it anymore.
20 minutes later Toby finally arrives at the hotel they would have thought that id be longer but by the looks of it, they were wrong. After parking the car at the front of the hotel they finally stepped out and made their way to the front desk to make a late reservation hoping that there would still be the place.
After making it to the front desk they rang the bell it looked quite old then again everything looked quite old in here not to mention the old decoration like the Christmas tree and balloons. why would they still have those? It's June anyway shouldn't there not be any decoration right now? maybe they just forgot thought toby still waiting for someone to come to make a reservation.
After ringing the bell again they heard shuffling from a room behind the front desk also a voice saying "Be there with you in a second!" After sometime a women appeared from the room as she made her way to the other side of the front desk.
"How can I be of assistance?" she asked politely. but I suppose that would sense if she works here even though I met a lot of people who work at places that are quite rude, however.
Zoning out for a while the woman asked again how she could be of assistance "O-Oh! Uh ye I would like to make a reservation for tonight if theres still placeee?" slurring the last part.
"We have quite some rooms left! let me just get your name to write down." I was overjoyed that I didn't have to go searching for a different hotel at this time. "Of course! My name is Toby (surname)" I told her.
"Alright noted. and for one night right? will you be having breakfast here?" she said "Yes just one night! And no I'll be having breakfast at my friend's house." I told her honestly while fidgeting with my hands.
"Sounds good, that will make your total 101 pounds." grabbing my wallet out of my bag that I brought with me for the night and taking the amount out she asked for and handing it over.
She took the key off the wall and before giving it asked me "Before I forget would you be interested to hear the famous Lady Massacre sing tonight?" I would have been ecstatic to be there, considering never having heard of this "famous" singer but it was quite late and I wasn't in the mood to stay up late when id get up early the next day.
"I would love to! But considering it's already so late I think I'll just go to sleep because I'm waking up early to be on my way to my friend. I hope you don't mind."
I could see her slightly twitching before she started talking again "No worries!" before handing me the key to 104.
"I hope you enjoy your stay at Sea view hotel!" she said before I made my way to the elevators quickly waved at her before entering the elevator and making my way to the first floor.
