The Promise:Time and Death

Chapter 5

While in the kitchen she was in shock. No words or feelings came to mind. But then she remembered she forgot to check under the bed so she then ran back to her brother's room and looked up under the bed , there she found a box. Lifting the box and bringing it back to the kitchen she opened it and found pictures of them, knives and a big envelope with more papers. But these papers weren't bank transactions, they were notes.These notes were death threats, with pictures of him and Tris doing things in their everyday lives. Tris again was shocked because she realized she really didn't know her brother. Looking more in the box she saw a piece of paper that had an address on it so Tris looked it up on her phone. After finding the address on Google, she decided to go there. Tris checked the time and it was now 1:20 in the afternoon so she got dressed and walked out the door after grabbing her phone , wallet and keys. Getting in her car that was parked on the street she started to drive the 45 minute drive. Arriving at the address she got out of the car and walked to the sketchy building. Looking around she realized that it was empty so she turned around and when she did she found a tall man with a tattoo on his neck standing near the exit." Who are you" she asked. The man didn't reply, he just looked at her. "Who are you?" she asked again but all the man did was walk a little closer and at this time Tris got scared and started to back up " This isn't a place for pretty girls like you so you best be going"he said calmly as he stopped walking just a few feet away from her. " ok I will go, sorry" the words quickly rushed out. Nodding, the man stepped out of her way. Almost to the door the man said " If you must investigate you better be smart and skillful, if you must chase a lead you better be ready to run and fight, and when you find the truth you must be ready for it" the man warned. Jogging out of the building into her car she drove off. The man wanted to warn her about what she may or may not find but whatever she does find she has to be ready. The man turned back around after Tris left and went further into the building taking his phone out of his pocket to make a call." It's going just as planned" he said to the person on the phone " Good i can't wait to watch them burn" the person on the phone said viciously. Tris arrived home 2 hours later with McDonalds to eat.
