11. We shouldn't do this

I spend around two hours sitting in the living room, not doing anything in particular. Namjoon shut himself in his room as soon as we walked into the house. Having Namjoon know my real identity and how I got here is surprisingly relaxing. I don't need to hide anything from him now. At this point I'm mostly just waiting for an appropriate time to go visit Seokjin and collect his share for the meal. Or rather, that's just an excuse to talk to him about that extra credit he mentioned.

Mrs. Kim sees me in the living room and approaches me with a small smile. I turn off the TV to see what she wants.

"I need to go out for a little bit. Is it fine if I take the car?" she asks.

"Of course. It's yours in the first place, you don't have to ask me for permission," I answer with a laugh.

"I just wanted to make sure you didn't have any plans on going somewhere."

"Actually, I do have plans on going somewhere, but it's close by, so I can just walk. No biggie."

"Alright then. I'll be heading out in that case. Can you cook dinner for Namjoon later too?"

"Sure, no problem."

She smiles happily at me and I can see the warmth in her eyes.

"Jungkook, to be honest with you, I wasn't too keen on letting you stay here at first, but it's really nice having you around. It's like you're helping Namjoon break out of his shell, and it's good that he has someone here when I'm gone. His father is rarely home at all, so I think he appreciates the company. Not to mention that he's managed to befriend the neighbors' kids thanks to you. I don't think I've even seen him speak to them before. It's all quite amazing."

"Wow... thank you, Mrs. Kim. I feel like I'm just doing the bare minimum, but I'm glad you appreciate my efforts."

She nods and turns around to leave.

"I'll get going now. See you later, Jungkook."

"Bye, Mrs. Kim."

I hear her close the front door behind her and drive off. I don't know where she's going exactly, but it's probably work related or she's meeting her rich friends at some expensive restaurant. I guess meeting your rich friends can be considered work too. Having connections is important.

With her gone, I decide to walk up the stairs to Namjoon's bedroom. I give a knock on the door and there's a bit of silence before he reluctantly tells me to come inside. I walk in and he's sitting at his desk, actively writing something. He merely gives me a glance over his shoulder before continuing.

"What do you want?" he asks.

"Well, I want two things. First: You mom left and wanted me to cook, so what would you like for dinner?"

"I don't care. Something tasty. And the second thing?"

"Right. Second: I'm gonna go see Seokjin-hyung to collect his money for the food earlier."

Namjoon puts down his pen and spins around in his chair to look at me. He clicks his tongue while furrowing his eyebrows.

"You're seriously gonna go to his house? Just like that?"

"Yes? Is there a problem?"

"You really don't think it's weird at all?"

"...No? Do you think it's weird?"

"Hell yeah. You were practically begging to go to his house when we dropped him off. What's your real motive?"

I can't help but to sigh at him.
