Rick was not allowed this hack unless it was absolutely necessary. But as soon as they got back to Jan Mayen, a phone call from Maja followed. "Mik, they are almost here. They are not close, but I can feel their movements, and they are covering speed at lightning speed."
"How much time do we have?" Mikael had asked.
"Half an hour, max."
"Got it. Get yourselves to the park. Is everyone clear of Pankhpur?"
"Yes. Not a single Pankhpurian lives here now."
"Good."
Rick's face dropped when he got to know. He opened a portal to Nidavellir, where all dwarves had locked themselves in their forges in anticipation. Normally vibrant, the workmen's world was unusually quiet. But there was very less time to linger. Rick followed another portal, and opened it right in front of the park in Pankhpur, the one behind which, they had built the camp for the Inca. "Me and Aitri will scour the perimeter." Rishi quickly strategized, "We can fly, we can cover more distance. You three, meet up with Meghna and Maja and Hnoss, if she is still here, and secure that last Crystal." Mikael had almost forgotten that they still had the last Crystal with them.
Rishi and Aitri flew away, as Mikael followed Rick and Ishaan inside the park. Inside, the Valkyries and the goddess awaited them. Meghna hugged Rick tightly, while Maja smothered her little brother with a bear-hug. "You alright?" She asked.
"Aitri? Rishi?" Meghna asked.
"Scouring the perimeter. They'll be here shortly. Come on." Rick said, before showing them the box. The four went inside, as Hnoss decided to stay outside and check around. Last Mikael saw, she stood at the center of the entire park, she started to put enchantments around Pankhpur. Yes, like Harry Potter. Very much like it.
Mikael entered the room of enchantments. It had roof inclined on both sides. The wooden walls were well complimented with a wooden door, polished and all. A light hung from the tip of the roof, and the door had no lock. "Why isn't this locked?" Ishaan asked.
"It's enchanted. Only I can open it." Rick opened the door with one single finger. The house didn't have a lot of things. There was a huge round table at the center, and at least a dozen chairs around it. Rick walked up and put the box on the center. He drew Thor's Thurisaz rune, which flew and hit around the box. Then, he turned and said, "I don't think any of the Crystals are safe anymore. My worst bet is that Berg has found all the Crystals, barring only one. This one. We can't let him get this. That would be the end of it all."
"Got it." Maja said.
They came out as they found Hnoss hugging Rishi and Aitri. Rishi saw them return to the park, and ran towards them. He gave Meghna and Maja a hug, before asking, "Is it secured?"
"You bet." Rick said.
"Good." Rishi said, "The number of army Berg had was unspeakable. Scores, multiplied by ten raised to the power of a score. But thankfully, to Hnoss's shield magic, it reduced to just a bare million."
"A million?"
"And, also the shield magic crumbled. As every creature died at the touch of that shield, the shield grew weaker and weaker."
"Please tell me Berg was leading them like a true leader." Meghna said.
"In chess, the pawns go first. Always."
Meghna cursed. "Guys, this is all my shield could do." Hnoss said, "We gotta take the rest of them on."
"Through the streets of Pankhpur?"
"Through the streets of Pankhpur." Aitri said, "Every street would know the history of Pankhpur after years."
The wind saw its speed increase. The sound it made was slightly terrifying. The sky grew a little darker as nightfall loomed large. Rishi sniffed something in air, as the environment quieted down. He walked a step ahead. Rick and Aitri followed him, as Mikael, Ishaan, Maja and Meghna readied themselves. "Guys, they are inside the city." Rishi said, "Remember what you are fighting for. Imagine how you'd want to see those after all this is over. Forget that Berg might have gotten hands on all the Crystals barring one. Forget that Berg is the Frost Giant King. For us, he is an obstacle who threatens the very existence of us and everything we hold dear. So, think of those we hold dear. That will give us more motivation than anything. For we are the last ones standing. We are all the whole world has. We are all the nine worlds have. So, on my command..." Rishi paused, as the first line draugar came to sight, as he said, "Unleash Helheim."
Rick and Aitri cried, as the power couple took to sight. Rishi covered himself in some red aura, and spread his arms. Ishaan converted to his fiery form and took flight. Maja and Meghna donned their Valkyrie armor. And Hnoss? She spoke something very ancient, and disappeared, before reappearing close to the monsters, containing draugar, thralls, trolls, frost giants, varulvs and so many more.
The final conflict had begun.
