Rayleigh's POV
I never felt like I belong to this family. I always had a different view on things, I never had any of my parents personality traits, and I didn't look anything like them. My brother Keyson however, was exactly like them. He was the spitting image of my dad. He had a lot of traits from my parents and agreed with them on most things.

As I sat on my bed, daddy came in to wish me a goodnight sleep.

He sat next to me on my bed and I could tell he could see that I had questions. My eyes were full of wonder.

"Daddy? Why am I different from you?..................................
From momma?......................From keyson?"

"Sweetheart, you are family, you aren't different from any of us."

He didn't help answer any of my questions. so I just nodded, kissed him on the cheek and said goodnight.

As he clicked my door closed, I could hear light footsteps coming up the stairs.

Mom.

My dad walked across the hall to keyson's room, and I heard them exchange good night's.

Mom stepped in my room to kiss me goodnight , and shut the door once again, just to walk across the hall to my brothers room to do the same.

After I heard the click to Keyson's door , I heard my mom's small footsteps and my dad's Godzilla feet walk down the stairs. I slowly got up and tip-toed to my door. As quiet as I could, I clicked the door open.I heard my dad talking to my mom in a soft voice.

Dad: I think we should tell her, she will find out sooner or later.

Mom: We both agreed when she turns 18 we would tell her.

Dad: what is it going to hurt if we tell her now?

Mom: DO NOT TELL HER! I mean it. we are protecting her. The day she turns 18, is the day she will know.

I seen my dad roll his eyes, but he nodded and walked away to sit on the couch.

I went back in my room. Were they talking about me? What were they gonna tell me when I am 18? What are they protecting me from?

I heard my dad's footsteps stomping up the stairs, so I hurried and rolled over to act like I was sleeping. The last thing I heard before I actually fell asleep was my dad yelling at my mom telling her she found his phone.
