The present - detention
Tik Tok, the sound of a clock; the sound of time going by; the sound of a silent room; the sound of detention. Yep, I am at it again.
I chew on the bubblegum I freshly put in my mouth. I hum the beat of a nirvana song as the door of the detention classroom opens. Mrs. Moore, the secretary of our principal, stands in the door opening as she looks around in the room. Then her eyes land on me.
"Mrs. Harper, please follow me to the principal office." Mrs. Moore speaks out. Her squeaky voice says it all, really. She is an afraid insecure rat.
I ignore her. If the principal wants to speak with me, he can move his old arse right here. I continue humming the song and look the other way.
"Mrs. Harper-"
"June. My name is June, got that?"
"Uh-m e-excuse me." Her voice comes out shaky. She seems to be surprised at my sudden 'outburst'. Well, she's in for a treat. "Principal Brown w-would like to have a word with you."
"Oh well, walk your wrinkly body back to the principal office and say the following to him; "If you would like to talk to June, lift your fat hairy ass up and go get her yourself' Oh and tell him he is a piece of shit, will you?" I smile smugly as I hear the others in detention snicker.
Her face turns red and she turns around to leave the room but before she does, she says one last thing. "Where is that sweet girl I used to know?"
I clench my jaw and ball my hands in to fists. I abruptly stand up and grab my bag. "I'm out."
I storm out the detention classroom and I make my way to the principal office. "What do you want?" I ask as fold my arms up against my chest.
"Oh hello to you too June." His sarcasm drips off from his voice. "Take a seat, please."
I throw my bag on the ground and let myself fall on the leather sofa. "So, let's get talking." My voice drips with enthusiasm and a fake smile is plastered over my face.
"So June, you know why you are here, don't you?" His brown eyes bore into my green ones.
"Nope." I say, poppin' the P, as I chewed on my bubblegum.
"You honestly don't know?" He folds his arms as his face holds a serious look.
"No I honestly don't know, Michael."
"It's Mr. Brown for you." He says sternly. "Let's see; you have caused nothing but chaos this year. The school board has had enough; you bully others, you don't care about your grades or anything practically. You have vandalized this entire school, you never attend your classes, you sell pot around here and most importantly, you are a danger to other students. You left us with no choice but to expell you from school."
