Rishi flashed lightning across the street, killing an entire line of draugar, as the champions drew first blood. He quickly realized that even at the full manifestations of their power, they were completely outnumbered. And they needed help somehow. Some sort of reinforcement.
Beside him, Aitri opened a chasm on the ground against a war-hungry pack of varulvs. The pack only had eyes on her blood, and hadn't seen the chasm. They fell through the chasm, and were locked underground forever. Behind him, Ishaan burned three giants, who clearly didn't enjoy fire. Rick had just taken down a huge thrall by breaking its neck through telekinesis, and was now conjuring something. "We are toast. I'll call for help. You hold them down." He said, as Rishi lost sight of his best friend behind a trail of more thralls.
Rishi dodged the attack of the thralls, and electrocuted them. He ran through another line of draugar, and one by one, cleared his path towards Berg. But there was no sign of him. Mikael had taken down a few more varulvs, having frozen them and shattered them to pieces. Aitri had just suffocated a few giants to death, and more came at them. In their Valkyrie armor, Meghna and Maja pierced their weapons through the hearts of many trolls. Hnoss, however, was bossing the war. She barely touched an enemy, and turned them into flowers. A group of trolls almost killed Mikael, but she interrupted, whispered something in their ears, and they started to fight amongst themselves.
At that moment, he entered.
Behind them, at twenty feet tall, stood the figure of impending doom. Bergfinn, son of Thrym, stood, for the first time perhaps, calm. He looked exactly like he had the last year, bald-headed, red eyed, grey skinned frost giant. His heavily muscled body now fashioned a battle armor that held the five Crystals of Fate he had collected in different grooves (Oh yeah, he was more like Thanos than you realize). The worst fear had turned to reality. However, there was something new about him. He seemed immensely confident at himself. He merely walked through the center of his own army, but he reflected power more than he had ever done. Maybe it was the Crystals. Or maybe...
Berg wore a ring on his right hand's ring finger. A ring Rishi had never seen before, but could easily guess the origin of. A ring that could lead everyone who wore to his or her death. The ring of Andvari.
Rick chose that moment to strike. The sound of blowing a horn filled the air. Everyone, including Berg, stopped in their position. "Fall back, champions, fill them in the park." Rishi cried, as the eight fell back inside the park. "The horn idea was great, Rick." Hnoss said, "Maybe that'll get my Mum's attention."
"That'll get every god's attention." Rick said, "I hope it does. Otherwise this second rated Thanos would make this a field day for his army." Ah, classic Rick humor. Still as effective as the first day.
The giant army followed their way into the park. And of course, their size didn't do very well with the park's size, despite the park being massive. Rishi watched in anger as the entire row of houses were smashed into debris. The giants broke through the fence of the park, but didn't progress further. More lines of houses were destroyed behind. It was a good thing that the city had been evacuated. And Berg chose that moment to step forward.
"You know, in the back of my mind, I always had this doubt that what I was doing was wrong maybe. But then, when I went to Iceland, only a few hours ago to pick up my Nature Crystal, I found this." He showed them the ring, to whose sight, Hnoss and Maja gasped. Berg continued, "This ring spoke to me, and made me sure that I was on the right path. May all good happen to the dwarf who allowed me to take the ring, for his choice has given me clarity on my destiny."
"He really should have watched the Lord of the Rings." Rick whispered, "Mr. Dumb-head has no idea of the set up."
"You mean..." Rishi gasped.
