Chapter 3

   I heard an annoying beeping sound, I tried to ignore it but I couldn't. I sat up, rubbing my eyes before turning off my alarm clock.

I looked at my phone and it was 6:25am already, I quickly rushed to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I put my hair in a bun and showered for 10 minutes. When I got out of the shower I put on my bathrobe and sat in front of the mirror. I did my skincare routine and applied my lotion and deodorant.

I decided to wear something simple today so I picked out a black tee shirt and a pair of blue jeans, I wore a knitted sweater as well because I felt cold.

I walked out of my room to the elevator and clicked on the third floor, when I heard the ding sound the aroma of food hit me immediately the elevator doors opened.

I walked into this beautiful restaurant like room with had a huge buffet. I was greeted by a white man who was at the counter.

I grabbed a plate and put pancakes, bacon with a glass of orange juice. I laughed at my failed attempt to make a heart with the syrup on my pancakes. I took a seat and immediately started eating my food.

I thanked the guy at the counter as I walked towards the exit. I got into the elevator, after awhile I heard the ding sound but frowned slightly because I enjoyed being in the massive elevator alone.

Anyways, I walked out of the hotel and took a bus to my school, about 18 minutes later I saw an enormous building with 'University of Massachusetts' written boldly on it.

"Wow" was I all I managed to say as I stared at the school buildings in awe. I grabbed my bag and paid the bus driver as I came out of the bus.

  I walked into the building and saw a middle aged white woman with beautiful short curly brunette hair. She was sitting at the front desk as she smiled at me saying "Hi, welcome to University of Massachusetts. My name's Jennifer and I'm the receptionist, how may I help you?" She said as her blue eyes were filled with excitement. I smiled back

"I'm Ava Yila and I got a scholarship to study here, I also have an appointment with Mr Mason" I said

"Ahh yes Mr Ross Mason is the owner of this institution and he has been expecting you. His office is on the top floor on your right" she said. I looked confused, she laughed before saying "I can take you there so you don't get lost"

"Please do, thank you" I replied with a giggle.

"You'll get used to it, we'll let's get going" she said, getting out of her chair.

We walked to the elevator, got in and clicked on the 7th floor 'this place is huge' I thought to myself. I heard ding sound "finally" I said under my breath. Mrs Jennifer, we'll I think she's a Mrs just smiled.

We walked out of the elevator into a hall, we took a right turn and I saw a black door with 'Director' written on it.

"Here we are, I'll leave now" Mrs Jenny said with a smile.

"Okay thank you ma'am" I said

"Oh please call me Mrs Jenny or just Jenny" she said with a smile. I was right she's married. 

  I knocked on the door twice before I heard a heard a deep vice telling me to come in. I walked in with a smile.

"Good morning, I'm Avadoo Yila and I got a scholarship to study nursing here" I said holding out my hand for a handshake.

"Ahh, I see please have a seat" he shook my hand before replying.

I showed him my documents and he nodded while reading which made me smile.
