A\N: A short Scott family oneshot because I love Leyton with Sawyer and always wondered what they'd be like with an older daughter who they'd adopted and raised like she was their own flesh and blood, enjoy.
Laughter rings throughout the Scott household, bringing a smile to basketball player, mechanic, son, brother, uncle, friend, husband and father, Lucas Scott as he leans against the back of the couch, watching his three girls playing with each other.
His artist, his saviour, his other half, his soulmate, his angel, the mother to their two girls and his wife, Peyton tickles their 8 year old daughter, their miracle, their baby, Sawyer while their 15 year old daughter, their bubbly, outgoing, adopted daughter Tali holds her little sister down. The doorbell rings, causing the laughter in the house to cease.
"I'll get it." Lucas says, smiling when he hears the laughter continues.
Opening the door, Lucas frowns when he sees a middle aged couple standing on his porch. The woman has graying hair and brown eyes and the man has brown hair with blue eyes.
"Can I help you?" The husband and father of two asks. The woman nods.
"You're Lucas Scott?" She asks, his blue eyes narrow as he nods.
"Yes, I am." The couple look at the man.
"We're Tali Scott's parents." The man says. Lucas's eyes widen as he calls his wife.
They have a problem.
Tali Scott looks at her parents then to the people claiming to be her biological parents and scoffs, crossing her arms over her chest.
"You may be my biological parents, but you're not my parents. Was it you who found me on a park bench in the freezing cold and took me in? No, it was Lucas and Peyton. Was it you who let me sleep in your bed until I was 11 because I was terrified of waking up and I'd be in an alley? No, it was Lucas and Peyton. Was it you who introduced me as your daughter only a week after you took me into your home? No, it was Lucas and Peyton. Was it you who adopted and raised me like your own flesh and blood? No, it was Lucas and Peyton. Was it you who went to all my school functions? No, it was Lucas and Peyton. Is it you who hold me all night when I wake up screaming? No, it's Lucas and Peyton. Are you teaching me to drive? No, it's Lucas and Peyton. Was it you holding me as I cried when my best friend killed herself? No, it was Lucas and Peyton? Is it you getting me through my drug detoxing? No, it's Lucas and Peyton. Is it you who's holding my hair back when I throw up? No, it's Lucas and Peyton. Is it you who doesn't leave me alone when I'm shouting at you to leave me alone? No, it's Lucas and Peyton. Is it you who hold me down when I'm hallucinating? No, it's Lucas and Peyton. Is it you who drops everything when I just want to have a cuddle in bed with you? No, it's Lucas and Peyton. Is it you always telling me that you're here for me and that you're not leaving me? No, it's Lucas and Peyton. Ever since I was nine, it's always been Lucas and Peyton who have done everything for me, not you. Lucas and Peyton are my parents. They love me and they took me in without a second thought, you're the ones who left me on a bench in the middle of winter and didn't come get me! Do you know I called them 'Lucas' and 'Peyton' until I was 14? These are my parents. I'm their daughter." The fifteen year old says with tears falling down her face as she runs to her parents arms.
Being held in her parents arms, Tali hears the sounds of her Uncle Nathan, Aunt Haley and Aunt Brooke escorting the couple out of the house.
"I love you guys, thank you for being my parents." Tali says into her parents shoulders. She feels her parents kissing her forehead over and over again.
"We love you too, Tali, so much." Her Dad says as her Mom runs a hand up and down her back.
Tali is a Scott and she's proud of it.
