Days passed by quickly, and today Haneul was working inside her office as she busied herself with signing the paperwork the door sprang open and Secretary Kang rushed inside.
"Madam, this is for you." Haneul's eyes landed on the envelope from Secretary Kang's hands. She gestured for her to leave it on her desk as her heels echoed on the marble floor Haneul quickly opened the envelope to see a glimpse of its contents.
Two days ago Haneul ordered her secretary to search for information, big or small regarding Jeon Jae-joon's whereabouts. Haneul wanted to make sure his schedule is full so she could make time for Dong-eun.
They both agreed to make Yeo-jeong their messenger bird because of prying eyes. To lessen suspicion about Park Haneul's collusion with Dong-eun's revenge.
Or Yoon Soo-hee.
She sighs in relief when Jae-joon's schedule was packed. Haneul messaged Yeo-jeong about it and confirmed the location to meet up at the café a week ago.
Haneul had to be careful of the sake of Seong-ho's peace. For Soo-hee.
After signing a few more important papers before leaving her office with her bag, since it was lunchtime no one will suspect her activities. She opened the glass door her eyes found Yeo-jeong who slowly tilted his head up as he waves his hand at her calling her name chirpily.
Haneul sat the opposite of him making him pout at her.
"You didn't want to sit next to me?" Haneul's eyebrows scrunched at his inquiry. Yeo-jeong just smiled innocently as if he didn't deliberately flirt with her just now.
"I'm just joking, you need to loosen up you'll get wrinkles if you always frown like that," Yeo-jeong added. His pointer finger tapped her forehead making Haneul swat his finger away but it looks like he wasn't the least bothered by it.
Rather Yeo-jeong's smile widens more.
"You should smile more, you look beautiful." Haneul scowled crossing her arms and arching an eyebrow at him.
"I know." Yeo-jeong grinned, pulling an envelope from his hands and pushing it toward the center of the table for Haneul to reach. She held the photos of Park Yeon-jin and her daughter, Ye-sol visiting a clinic.
Not just any clinic, an eye clinic.
"What, do you know he has a daughter too?" Yeo-jeong queried, stunned. Haneul nodded, shifting her gaze away from the photos.
"There was a high possibility this would happen if they're cheating for a decade or so then I'm not surprised that'll happen." Yeo-jeong gasped, chuckling in a breath-like tone.
Haneul shrugged, the pads of her fingers tracing over the photo calmly before checking her watch, deciding to go now since time was running and lunchtime was almost done.
"See you in a few days, I had to get to work before someone sees us." Yeo-jeong nodded, patting her hand as he waves her goodbye.
"Mhm, take care!" he exclaimed which was ignored since Haneul was already out of the store.
As she rushed out of the store with hushed footsteps the heel of her shoe suddenly broke, Haneul groaned when her knees fell. Not only did her shoe break she even gained a wound on her knee, it was also bleeding intently she has to ask Secretary Kang for a first-aid kit back at her office to fix it later.
"Ms. Park?" She looked up only to see the sun's light illuminating in front of her eyes, unable to see the person in question but she can tell who it was.
Even with the few times they've met Haneul already memorized that voice.
"Who?" Haneul asked, out loud.
"Ha Do-yeong, if you can't tell."
"Ah, Mr. Ha how can I help you?" Haneul asks, rapidly hiding her bloodied knee as she stands up fixing her skirt.
"Shouldn't I be the one asking you that?" Do-yeong asks, looking down at her knee. The blood was trailing down her foot, flustered Haneul briskly looks at her knee.
"My bad, sorry if you saw my clumsiness. I'll get it treated as soon as possible." Haneul assured but Do-yeong wasn't the least bit convinced by it.
"No, let's get it treated. I had a first aid kit back at my office. Let's go."
Before she can utter a reply, Do-yeong held onto her wrist as they walk across the road to go to the other side to go ride his car, his driver glances at the anonymous woman, nonetheless, he drove them to Do-yeong's office as he stated.
When they made it Haneul groans in frustration when her wound kept giving her a burden as she walked, Do-yeong noticed her dilemma and asked her.
"Would you mind?" Do-yeong asked.
Haneul turned to her, grinning softly at him.
"Please," she muttered, Do-yeong nodded carrying her into his arms much to her surprise, Haneul thought that he was only supporting her but this was fine.
Haneul stayed still, not wanting to bring him inconvenience. She was already thinking back about her life choices, and once Jae-joon found out about this there was a possible misunderstanding.
Do-yeong lifts her down on the couch, while he left to find the first aid kit. Haneul observed his office, it was neat and wide. Not much was said.
Haneul was astonished when Do-yeong kneeled in front of her and took off her shoes and gently holds her bloodied knee.
Haneul bites her lower lip when he began cleaning her wound using rubbing alcohol. She gripped the decorative pillow on the couch while she waits for Do-yeong to finish cleaning her wound.
After the bloody process, Do-yeong applied ointment to her knee. Haneul sighs in relief, and finally, the pain stopped.
After placing a band-aid on her knee Do-yeong stands up to clean the mess and turns around to place the kit back.
"Thank you for helping me, Mr. Ha I owe you one." Haneul started.
Do-yeong looks up, his hands fixing his necktie, and shakes his head.
"You don't need to, I only did what's right to do Ms. Park." Haneul nodded.
"Can you please stop calling me with formalities?" Do-yeong arches an eyebrow at her suggestion, Haneul's eyes widened, and flailed her hands.
"Not that way... It's just... you know? Awkward, if we continued to meet this way I wanted to be comfortable at least."
Do-yeong's eyebrows furrowed.
"Do I make you uncomfortable then?" Haneul covered her lips, she just let her inner thoughts slip away from her mouth.
"W-Well you look aloof?" Haneul said, almost a question. The atmosphere had thickened when no one spoke.
'Maybe I shouldn't have been so insensitive...'
"If that's what makes you happy... Haneul-ssi."
