"Y/N HURRY YOUR ASS UP!" I hear my brother yell, "COLBY IS ALREADY HERE!" Colby is my brother, Jake's, close friend. "ONE MINUTE!" I yell back. We were going ghost hunting in a haunted asylum today. I had on a xplor T-shirt and a striped undershirt, ripped pale blue jeans, and some converse. My hair is curly since i'm African American and my hair was put into a low puffy ponytail. I was adopted by Jake's parents when I was six and Jake was eight. He always made me laugh even when I was sad. I love Jake with my whole heart and soul. I heard running up the stairs and thought it was Jake trying to fight me when a very handsome blonde haired boy ran in. He looked no older than Jake. "Uh, may I help you?" I asked slowly. "Shit," he said softly. "I'm so sorry, my name's Sam I'm Colby's best friend and Jake told me to come get you so we could explore." I kept staring at his blue-grey eyes and couldn't focus. "Y/n?" He asked touching my arm. "I'm ready now." I said grabbing his hand and putting it by his side. "Thanks." He nodded and I went out the door him following. "Hey asshole," I said to Jake, punching his arm. "Hey Colbs!" I said hugging him. "Hey y/n!" Colby and I have always been close but we would never date. We made that promise years ago. Colby was driving, Jake got shotgun (because he called it) and Sam and I got backseat. Great. I pulled a book out of my backpack. The Outsiders by S.E Hinton. "I love that book!" Said Sam who was now over my shoulder reading the book with me. I smiled at him and said "Me too! She's my favorite author." When we were talking I realized how close our faces were and I kind of wanted to kiss him. Something tells me he wanted to as well.
