It was exactly two hours later as everyone was still gathered on the same roof. Nero was alone by himself, looking up at the sky. He still felt very guilty save Armin and not Eren. How could he tell Mikasa what happened? Armin was in no good feeling either, since he seemed to lose his very best friend. 

Connie: Hey, Jean? What should we do?

Jean: It's no use. What can we do? We were ordered to retreat, but since we barely have gas left, we can't scale up the walls. So it looks like we're dead because of those cowards. 

Connie: But what about the supply team?

Jean: They were too terrified to move. I can understand that, but abandoning their mission to resupply us? Just to hide away in HQ? Unbelievable. And sure enough, the Titans swarmed the base. So that's a no go. 

Connie: Then we must do something and destroy the Titans at HQ! We won't be worse here since the Titans can come after us here! And we'll use too much gas if we keep on running. If our ODM's are out, then we're dead!

Jean: ... I'm surprised your using your head, Connie. But do you think you can cheer up the others here? Some of Vanguard has been killed, and some retreated. Only ones that are left are those two.... Which of us trainees can lead a suicide mission just like that? Well, even if we can, we just can't beat them. I bet 3 to 4 meter Titans have entered the base and already eaten the ones inside. So we can't refuel. 

Connie: ... So... we're done?

Jean: Such as stupid life. If I'd knew this would happen, I would've told them. 

Sasha was trying to cheer everyone up and get back to the fight, but everyone was very scared of being killed off. No one would move and everyone would feel despair. 

Annie: Reiner, what do we do?

Reiner: Nothing. If we're going to fight, we fight together. 

Marco: It's no use... There's no way any of us can make it out alive... I knew I die here... But what am I exactly dying for? 

All on the roof were silent, not sure of what to do. It was as if everyone was ready to die, even if they were scared. Christa walks away from Ymir and walks towards where Nero was as he kept looking up at the sky. 

Christa: Nero?

Nero: ...

Christa: Are you okay?

Nero: ... I didn't save Eren. 

Christa: What?

Nero: ... I saved Armin. I could've saved Eren too, but... I didn't. And I don't know why I didn't try to save him. It's like as if my body acted on it's own accord. And that costed Eren's life... I promised her mother... and Mikasa... that I protect him. But I didn't... and failed.... 

Christa: It wasn't your fault. 

Nero: Was it really?

Christa: ...

By now, Mikasa arrives as Nero's attention slightly turned towards her, but immediately looked away. 

Mikasa: Annie. I think I know what's going on, and I'm sorry for getting my feelings involved. But have you seen Eren or his team?

Annie: I saw no one. And it doesn't seem like anyone has made it up the walls. 

Reiner: Armin and Nero are there, talk to them. 

She then walks over towards the two. 

Mikasa: Nero, Armin. Are you hurt? Are you both okay?

Nero: ...
