prologue

Narrator pov

It was a sunny morning in New York, the streets busy as usual and these two girls go about their morning not knowing that chosing to go to the times Square and meeting eachother would change their lives forever.

As Talia wakes uo and gets ready for her day there's an unusual pep I her step. She's exited, she's meeting one of her online friends for the first time. She's never met alex before and is just hoping it's not a creepy old man.

As alex walks to the time Square to meet up with Talia she was very exited, she sat at the agreed upon bench and waited for Talia.  She looked around and saw Talia down thr sidewalk, it looked as if her hand was glowing. Alex heard her mumble something under her breath and then a child trips and drops her ice cream, alex instantly knew what Talia was. A syphoner, it wasn't the first time alex had seen one but it was the first time she'd witnessed one trip a child. Alex couldn't the laugh that slipped from her lips at that, and couldn't help but think hey would be good friends. Talia finally spots alex on the bench and waves, alex waves back with a kind smile.

Alex stands up as Talia gets close and immediate pulls her into a hug. Talia feels a shiver run down her spine and she knew what alex was, a werewolf. Although Talia didn't know that alex was also aware as to what she was.

Alex pulls away and smiles saying " it's so good to finally meet you, I was worried you were going to be a creep" and Talia responds with a chuckle " I was thinking the same thing" the two girls talk for what feels like an eternity but it's only been 2 hours. Alex feels herself getting hungry as does Talia. They decide to find a restaurant choosing a pizza one not for from the Square, the walk was with a comfortable silence as they enjoyed eachithers company. Once they arrive they and slide into a booth, a waiter shows up soon giving us our menus and then taking our orders. They make casual conversation untill the food arrives, when the waiter puts the food down Talia notices a piece of paper folder on her plate. She glanced uo st the waiter who winks at her and then walks away.

Once they were done they paid and left Talia and the waiter sharing a flirtatious look that didn't go unnoticed by alex. As there walking Talia invite alex to her apartment who happily accepts the invitation.

Once they arrive Talia unlocked the door and invites alex in, they sit on the couch and Talia turns the TV on. The intro to supernatural plays and Alex smilee and says " oh my God I love this show, I've watched it like a million times." Talia laughs and agrees.

By the time the episode is over its getting late, and they both decide to call the number from the waiter. Talia picks  up her phone and dials it in. Alex is able to hear the voice on the other end of the call with her superhearing.

Hello?
Hi, it's Talia you gave me your number earlier?
Oh yeah, I saw you and your friend and thought I would shoot my shot, y'know? I'm Zach btw.
Ok, so fid you wanna meet, I have a pretty open schedule this week
Yeah  wanna meet up Friday at the restaurant, I get off at 5.
Sure I'd love to,see you then bye!

Talia hangs up the phone and escorts alex after calling her a cab.

On Friday morning Talia wakes up, she gets dresses and brushs her hair and teeth. Because Talia has time to kill she test Alec to come over.

When alex arrives she walks in to see Talia doing her makeup. " hey Talia, what do you wanna do?" Talis responds " idk, I just didn't sit at home alone, I have that date tonight with the sexy waiter  remember him?" Alex nods and sits on the couch as Talia finishes her makeup and moves onto picking out her jewelery.

As the clock stricks five Talia walks into the restaurant, Zach quickly spots her and takes her outside, they begin to walk not noticing that alex was following them. Alex had a bad feeling about this guy, but couldn't figure out why and it's better safe than sorry. Zach explains that he was gonna take Talia to a diner/bar. Talia and Zach go sit at the bar, and Alex sits at a table close to the door. Because Talia was still only only 20, she grabs her necklace and casts a spell, that's basically compulsion and she gets her and Zach drinks. This didn't go unnoticed by Zach or Alex.

They get their drinks and make small talk for a while before, Talia suggests going back to her apartment. All three walk back to the apartment, Alec making to stay out of site. Talia invites Zach inside and alex waist ont he porch listening to their conversation.

Zach looks around and sees what he thinks are old grimoirs. He takes a look at talias necklace and asks " where'd you get that necklace? It's gorgeous" Talia responds " I'm not sure, I've had it since birth I was told my mom left it ti me before she dies." And he says " I really seen similar necklaces on other girls before, they were able to do special things with them"  Talia starts to get nervous. He told her those girls have special powers, that they could take energy from The necklace.  He then asked is she could do the same. Talia responds with a nervous chuckle, " yes I can, I'm a syphoner, how do you know about syphoners?" He responds with a small smile and explains he is a werewolf. "I've asked many syphoners before if they could could make a moonlight ring for me, but they all declined and I'm doing so met an unfortunate fate, so if you don't uo like them you'll make one for me, understand?"

Talia feels the hairs on the back of her neck stand up, she's growing nervous at his unsettling words. Alex is hearing this conversation from outside the door, and she wants to rush inside but know it would be smart to wait and catch him by surprise.

Talia gets mad abs says " so the only reason you took me out tonight was to use me? And you expect me to make you a moonlight ring? No, I won't do it and I'm not going out without a fight. So either leave now ow I'll make you. Zach chuckles and smiles with an unsettling look I'm his eyes and responds " you think you have a choice? You make me the ring or you die, now I would have to kill such a beautiful creature like you. " Talia laughs and says " I'd like to see you try, you may have seen syphoners before but none like me" Zach runs forward with inhuman speed catching Talia off guard and knocking her to the ground, Talia grabs her necklace and starts to syphone her power before throwing him back. Alex hears this from outside rushing I'm the door to see Zach being pinned against the wall by Talia. Talis stands and says "I gave e you a chance to leave, now you have to face the consequences"

Talia does a pain inflection spell, and Zach crumbles to the floor writhing I'm agony, alex rushes forward grabbing onto the base of his neck before ripping it clean off his body. His body falls to the floor and Alex drops his head rusing over to Talia to make sure she was ok.

After this unfortunate event the two girls decide they should leave town and in less than day they have gathered all of their belongings and are moving into a nice small house in, mystic falls Virginia.
