Cold blue eyes linger in the darkness...
The world swirled about him. He often saw dark beings peeping out of corners. They had on cloaks with their hoods up, and in the place where their faces should exist, there lay only darkness.
George felt severe paranoia. He constantly checked his closet, and he peered under his bed for at least five minutes every night, as if waiting for something to pop out. When ever he was alone, he glanced at his surroundings several times. He rapidly flipped through the pages of his books before reading or doing homework as if they might contain demonic writing. Someone was after him... George could feel it... This is his story.
Math class is sooo boring. Who needs it? I suppose engineers do, but I'm not one to ever pursue that type of career. I would shoot myself before that ever happened.
So here I sit. In math class. Not listening. Lectures are so boring. I rest my face in my hand and feel drowsiness overcome me. I blink several times. Mr. Byrnes blurs as my vision goes dark... but before my vision escapes me, I swear I see a man covered in a dark cloak standing behind him.
For reasons I don't know, I am walking down a hallway. I don't remember how I got here. The hallway is grimy and covered in dirt and blood stains. It is disgusting. I'm pretty sure the walls and floor are supposed to be white. Yellow lights contain a foggy glow. One flickers constantly, which irritates my eyes.
Suddenly, they all flicker at once. My vision goes dark and light continually, which brings terror inside me. I HATE it when lights flicker, but this is horrible! I already have severe paranoia to begin with. My whole body shakes, and I can barely move forward.
What the hell am I doing! I spot a glowing bluish figure with a wrinkled face. Its eye sockets and mouth are empty. It appears closer with every flicker.
I scream at the peak of my lungs and bolt in the opposite direction. By now my terror has seized me to the extent where my whole body goes numb. It feels as though I am barely moving through the flickering hallway. It's like running through water. The warm breath of something touches my neck. Something grabs me. I nearly jump out of my body.
I swivel around and punch the attacker in the face with all the force I contain. The next thing I know, I see the whole class staring at me and Jonny is laying on the floor covering his nose with his hand. Blood flows beneath his hand.
Now I have to try to explain to my parents what happened. Something is wrong with my head, and I know it; I try to hide it. I do! But pretty soon I'm gonna come out and I'll end up in a mental institution. I feel like shit. My life's over. I guess it's for the best because I'll just hurt more people. Guess I'll just go and tell them about my problems. What else can I do?
No. Not gonna happen. Screw it. I know what I gotta do. Deny, deny, deny.
Okay, today sucks. I'm suspended. I sounded so stupid sitting in the office trying to say I didn't know what happened.
Feeling like a load of shit just got dumped all over me, I drift off into sleep.
Lights flicker in a blood-stained hallway. I find myself walking forward. Wait, I've been here before. I recognize the place, but I can't pinpoint...
A door stands in front of me. It is clean and polished unlike the rest of this place. My hand touches the nob and turns it; it is frozen to the touch. I feel a cold jolt enter my hand, so I immediately pull away. The door swings open.
Inside sits a black room. There are tears in the walls and flooring. Ghostly curtains flow with an incoming breeze from a single open window. The air feels like ice.
