- Are you really leaving?  –  Wen Ning asked in a quiet voice.

- Yes.  –  Jiang Cheng answered simply.

- I see.

He was making tea for them; it was a little after 10 p.m., but they needed this last talk.

- Please, take good care of your sister. She cares very much for you.

- Are you really gonna talk about A-Li now?!  –  he huffed.  –  And here I thought we were friends!

The tall pale boy served the two cups of tea quite solemnly.

There was a long silence, filled with the generic background chill-out music, and Wen Ning sighed.

- We are. I care for you too.  –  he said simply too.

Jiang Wanyin blushed slightly, and secretly stole a look towards the dark windows. He knew that Brent was out there, waiting for him.

- I should go.  –  he didn't quite touch his cup of tea, but did not really move from his high stool either.

- Mister Jiang...  -  the boy looked up, finally meeting the honey eyes.  –  I need you to tell me that you are going to be fine. Are you?

Jiang Cheng laughed a little. He had never seen the gloomy boy so serious. Or rather  –  he was always being serious. So this now sounded like some sort of comical exaggeration. Like putting too much make-up; it always gave off the impression of a clown.

- Did you not see the gorilla outside? The one keeping me "safe"?  -  he mocked.

- One bullet to the head is sometimes enough.  –  A-Ning mumbled unhappily.  –  I don't want... something bad... to happen. To Miss Jiang, or to you. Or...  -  he added shyly.  -  ... to Mister Lan.

- Oh?  -  Jiang Cheng raised an eyebrow.  –  And what about Bobby, as we seem to be listing names of all the people we know now?  –  he grinned at him, taking a sip from the lukewarm tea. Dammit, it was still delicious!

Wen Ning frowned slightly.

He still quite vividly remembered the way Mister Bobby had shot that video at New Year's Eve, and had not helped Mister Jiang in a moment when he clearly, urgently needed help. Ever since then, he kept his cautious distance from the middle-aged man. Ever since, he had nightmares from time to time, all of them in bloody-red light, and he was feeling quite helpless  –  in all of them.
