A persistent knocking against one man's living room door woke him up from a dream he had in which he was swimming deep within a vast ocean.

He found it odd to dream of diving into a sea of uncertainty, given the fact that he couldn't swim.

Those abilities were taken from him on the day he ate a devil fruit called the Op-Op fruit.

However, his privilege to swim wasn't all that was lost along the way.

At the age of ten, Trafalgar Law had already lost everything near and dear to him in his life: His parents, younger sister, friends, his entire house, and village, due to a war caused by a deadly virus outbreak that workers wanted to eradicate, using inhumane techniques that killed people, oppose to curing them.

Having nothing left to lose after thinking he lost it all back then, Law met a man with a unique and infamous name called Donquixote Doflamingo.

At the time, he carried the very illness that his people had been eradicated for by the merciless and cold-blooded fugitives.

Law did everything in his power to prove himself worthy of becoming Doflamingo's executive.

He went up against the Spanish man's underlings and once his opportunity finally came around, Law was successful in becoming an executive.

He was worn out, beaten down, starved, and very sleep deprived.

Apart from the boy's heart wrenching appearance, there was one thing that caught the man's attention.

And it wasn't the look of angst he wore on his spotted face, but the explosives tied to his body.

In Doflamingo's eyes, he could feel Law's hatred.

This bloodthirsty attitude of his was what lead the powerful man to put him to the test.

Proving himself worthy of joining his crew, Law worked under the devil himself and met the rest of his members.

Two of them being Baby 5 and Buffalo, ones he deemed nosey and annoying.

They were always around him, having nothing else to do and no one else to bother, evidently.

Apart from them, there were many more members of Doflamingo's pirate crew, and one in particular that hated children.

That being Doflamingo's younger brother: Donquixote Rosinante who Law met as Corazón.

During the few encounters that they had, the two were constantly at each other's throats.

One day, out of anger and rebellion against such a dreadful man he was always frustrated by, Law grabbed a revolver and didn't think twice before pulling the trigger, shooting him without fail.

Shortly afterwards, he came to realize that the man he shot, was alive when he showed up to the dining room table and sat down as if nothing.

This came as a great shock the young boy, but what truly gave him a jolt was when Corazón informed his brother that he was injured.

Back then, many thoughts infiltrated his mind at once, each time, leading him towards the same outcome: He was as good as dead.

Dying in its own didn't phase Law at the time: His lifespan was cut short from the day he ran away from Flevance, also known as: The White City, due to the deadly Amber Lead Disease that originated from within that province.

He estimated to have only three years and two months of life left to live, he vowed to reek havoc among the Earth before the grim reaper would come to collect his soul.
