The car pulled into the vacation home we were renting for the summer. It was a two-hour drive from our home on the mainland. We were staying in a small house on Pearl Water Island.
"Oh, my!" Mom gasped, "This island is beautiful, Cora!"
I smiled at her and got out of the car.
It took ten minutes to finish unloading the car. After all, it had two and a half months' worth of suitcases in it.
Exhausted from running back and forth to and from the car, I sank down deep into the living room couch.
"Cora, sweetheart?" Mom yelled from the kitchen.
"Yeah Mom?" I called back.
"If you could bring your bags upstairs that would be very helpful."
"Okay! I will," Groaning I stood up from the soft, inviting couch and went to go take my luggage to my room.
