as I walk into this bar, I wonder if this is even a good decision. I shouldn't even be here, but Zayn convinced me to come. he says I need to go out more. maybe I will meet my true love here. (𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙞𝙛 𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙞𝙨 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙬) who am I kidding, this is a bar full of drunkers and sad people. I can't tell which category I fit into, but I think that just shows that I really shouldn't be here. I don't drink a lot and I'm not sad, even if Zayn says otherwise.

the second I step in I'm greeted by a quite dull atmosphere, nothing like bars in movies id seen. just like id thought, sad and drunk people, all sat like lost dogs at the pub table. the bartender was oddly chipper in such a soul sucking place.

just as I'm about to leave, I see a man sitting at the end of the bar, chattering with the server. they seemed to know each other. I don't know why I stopped, or why I even approached them, but something in me said to not leave, that Zayn might be right, and I needed to try at least to not be so miserable.

I sit two seats away from the man, who doesn't even seem to notice me, until he moves over to the seat right beside me.

I'm in the middle of talking to Niall whenever I see a guy sitting alone a bit beside me. usually, I don't talk to people in this bar, their all a bunch of assholes. but since Niall is the bartender I can get free drinks here, which is more than enough for me. so, every week I come out here and see the same damn people, ordering the same damn drinks, and I watch as each one try's their hand at Niall. of course, he never reciprocates, he would never date anyone from this bar. nobody would.

there's something about this guy though, he isn't like the others, it seems like he doesn't belong here.

I wonder why Hes not with anybody, Hes definitely attractive enough to have company. I deicide fuck it, what's the worst that could happen and ove and sit by him. I tell Niall my plan and all he does is laugh as I walk away, flipping him off. I've never had much luck in the love department, it's mostly always been my fault.

as I walk over to him he looks at me with these eyes, these gorgeous blue eyes that almost look angelic in this dull lighting. he seems to have a sense of curiosity to him, innocence. i wonder what it feels like to still see the world rose colored glasses. it probably sucks though.

he doesn't say anything as I sit there, so I start the conversation. "Hi, my names harry, what's yours?" to be fair, I don't play the field a lot so I'm a bit rusty in communications skills. "louis" he says, in a soft, low voice I could barely hear. he seemed shy. "it's nice to meet your louis." "you too." "Why are you here?" I speak. "What do you mean?" he says. "I mean at this bar; everyone has a reason to be here. so, what's yours?" "Loneliness, sadness, alcoholism?" I say. "I'm not lonely." he says. "Then why are you here?" it seemed like he took it a way I didn't mean. "I wasn't trying to be rude I was just genuinely curious." "I know. I'm thinking." he says. "I'm here because my roommate wanted me to be here. he says I need to get out more." says louis. "peculiar." I say. "I guess."

after a while, it was starting to get obvious that I made louis uncomfortable. I decided to offer him my number, which he obviously ended up taking, then I left in a hurry. I didn't even say goodbye to Niall.

"goodbye harry" I hear softly behind me, it was louis. but because I'm an asshole I pretend like I didn't hear him, and I walk out.
