The twirling twister of dark and red flashes roared in the vastness of the void I am in right now. A dark figure stood in front of the roaring twister. The figure looked at none other than the conductor, who orchestrated this whole ordeal of devastation. Being enlivened every second as the twister grew bigger and bigger every passing second. Time felt alien in this world full of nothingness; sirens blared. My vision turned red. I felt a tug pulling me out from the eye of the apocalypse. The dark figure turned around, smirking at me with the faintness of familiarity. I was drawn awake from my dream.

"Get up! Look at you working so hard that you pass out on the desk again. Now hurry up. Everyone has moved it outside already. The press from all the planets will be there. And the esteemed man of honor Dr. Nox is drowning in his own drool?" Jason yelled at me while fixing me a hot cup of coffee.

Oh, you all must be wondering who I am, right? I am Nicholas Nox, a 25 years old scientist who created 'Eternal Energy'. Yes, you heard that right. I am an uni-famous astrophysicist, scientist, researcher, whatever you might be calling us on your planet.

Today marks the turn that is gonna change everything in the existence of intelligent beings. The day when my dream of creating an eternal energy source turns into reality. I glance at the lab, being my place of stay for the last year. The project A.L.B.Y. was done for no less than 5 years. Finally, all the hard work has paid off. I continue to stare blankly while my spectacles are askew with drool dripping down.

This is the cue for Jason as he starts yelling close to my ear again, "YOU ASS! STOP SPEAKING TO YOURSELF."

Man, this guy is my best friend, after all. Jason won't back down now, "Now go get ready. We need to go out there."

As I am continuing my venture into getting ready. Jason adds, "Aethra can't make it to the presentation due to her project work. She requested/ threatened me to get you ready and there on time. So, for the sake of my life, get going already!". I look at my hand to be greeted by a shining platinum ring. Aethra, the love of my life, had put that ring on me when we got engaged a year ago. When I state that she is the best person I have ever met. I mean every word of that statement.

So as not to put his life in danger. As I know for a fact that my fiancé would kill him. I get ready swiftly. In about 20 minutes, Jason and I are onboarding his car, he takes the wheel as I stare at the laptop screen, preparing for the presentation. Beings have arrived to spectate this moment of change from planets as far as from Andromeda. As we drive through the traffic. I think about the bizarre dreams I have been witnessing these past months. The dark figure, the tornado of red and black electricity, something about that space felt familiar. It felt as if I was in that space, still; nothing could explain the figure standing in front of the twister. What stopped my analyzing mind was the halt Jason took. "We are here. Get off" said Jason with a slap on my head to wake me from the daze. Getting off the car, I put my lab coat on as we entered the Nyxia Research Laboratory. The building looked like something out of a fantasy novel. A floating skyscraper above the ground to safeguard it from unwanted personnel. Jason and I get onto the teleportation disc. Within seconds we are inside the NRL main building.

Behind the computer screen waiting for us, stood Professor Cheng, the man who mentored me for as long as I can remember. He was akin to father to me. Professor Cheng found me from my good-for-nothing elementary school. Since then, he has had a big hand in creating me into the person I am today.

"You are late, Dr. Nox". Oh, I forgot to mention that Professor Cheng was on edge at times. And today seems like the time is here again.

"I am sorry for being late, I have a valid reason. I was not able to get enough sleep because I was working. Can you guess where that came from?"

"Obviously from me, but do you see me being late?" A burst of laughter follows.

Jason interrupts with, "If the reunion is finished, may we proceed to address the matters on hand like 'SOLVING THE UNIVERSAL PROBLEM OF ENERGY SCARCITY'?"

"Jason" Prof Cheng lets out a sigh. "Dr Nox, you are up in half-hour. That is the limit I can hold them all off until you prepare." Professor says as he heads to the presentation stage.

I have to leave Jason, to make final checks on machine in my lab. The 'machine' is a pretty generalized term. What I had created was a child of my own. We called it ALBY. ALBY was as big as a 5-storey building. Covered in wires and energy holders, it looked like a junk box that gleamed with blue light. But in reality, it was capable of creating energy from thin air. Using the abandoned nitrogen from the Nyxia's atmosphere, ALBY changes it into pure energy. An unpreceded conversion rate of 95%. We held the power to create worlds, wipe out entire races. The power to destroy and create as we please.

After the final checks, we were ready. Ready to begin the presentation of a lifetime. I walk backstage, wearing a black lab coat, unlike the usual white. Something about black always fascinated me. Standing there on the stage in front of a crowd of thousands, the rest of eyes joined through the big screens set up all over. Professor Cheng was already doing a presentation that briefed everyone about ALBY in short. On the cue, I walk out on the stage. The whole audience burst out in a massive round of applause. I could not hear a single sound other than thousands of hands clashing together to form the melody of applause. I held up my hand, commanding the room, asking the rest of the world to maintain silence, for what was about to happen was gonna change their life.

"ALBY has been my dream in creation for the last 5 years. And today, it is going to be initiated in a full-fledged way. We will take the time for the questions session after the demonstration is over. Thank you."

As I speak into my mic, I tune into Jason, sitting in the command center, ready to start ALBY. "We are ready to go, Dr NOX", Jason pinged. After punching the code into the master controller for ALBY. I stood there looking at my life's most significant creation start-up. The heating sequence went fine, and the conversion of energy started. The temperatures of operation for ALBY needed to be very low. That is why we used a 6-Dimension lab, it made ALBY exist in another dimension than the one we were in right now, thanks to the creation of 6-dimensional lab by Professor Cheng.

After a whole 10 mins, the first batch of energy got converted. For demonstration, we selected a barren asteroid located far off in the universe.

"Now, witness the new age of intelligent beings", I announce as I press a button. The whole asteroid gets burned to a crisp in front of everyone. It was located 5 lightyears away from Nyxia. Any weapon we possessed should have taken at least 5 years to reach it, but with ALBY, we achieved that in 5 microseconds. The whole crowd broke into a huge cheer.

I could not feel anything except content at this moment. My most incredible creation yet, was alive, breathing, and running. This felt like being on top of the world. I stood there facing the crowd.

Announcing "I PRESENT TO YOU ALBY: THE ETERNAL ENERGY SOURCE." I could feel goosebumps spread across my body. But something felt off. I looked around the crowd. The face of the crowd was not of awe, and I saw fear in their eyes. All of them are staring behind me. I turned behind to be blinded by the absolute worst site. Alby exploded in an explosion that could have annihilated all of us in seconds if it was in the same dimension. A loud blast and my entire world went black.
