TW: ALCOHOL USE ( ADDICTION ), DISCRIMINATION
Ever since childhood, Kaith had received almost no attention from his parents. They didn't plan on having a kid. It just so happened they ended up with one. But they had no plan on taking responsibility. They usually left him alone in an empty and cold room. He spent most of his days as a toddler, in a crib. He had one toy, which was broken. Kaith broke it accidentally. The room only had a crib, a closet and some kind of cabinet. The cabinet was locked, though. The closet was filled with clothes mostly from Kaith's mother, while he was in the corner of the closet, messily put away. His mother would often consume alcohol, ending up drunk as the result. The father didn't really care much about his wife's addiction. He only cared that she obeyed him. The mother didn't want to hire a babysitter, because that'd take away her money for alcohol. She was greedy. The father, didn't care. Kaith didn't know of any other family members. He only knew of his father and mother. When he hit the age of 1, his father decided that he wanted Kaith to be,, smart. He chose to hire a babysitter, who would teach him basic things of life. How to walk, talk and similar. Kaith's mother got angry at his dad. She let it happen though. If Kaith was educated properly, he can make money. Kaith's mother saw that as a way to earn more money. Soon enough, Kaith was able to talk and walk. But during that one year of just being in one plain room, only taken out to eat and change diapers, made learning somewhat difficult for him. The babysitter was a decent one. She made sure to be there when Kaith needed it. But it wasn't enough. Kaith seemed to be..emotionless. He didn't cry or laugh. Even when he got hurt.Kaith grew up with the babysitter, used to her behavior and such. Once he turned 5, she left. The parents were in a financial struggle, due to the mother using all the money for alcohol. It shattered Kaith. He was now almost always alone. Even when he was in the presence of his mother and father, they only exchanged a few words. That was all. Kaith didn't go to daycare because of his parent's financial struggles. It made him lonely. He hated waking up. All he did every day was eat and sleep. By the age of 6, he began to explore around the house. He found some kind of comics, but he wasn't able to read. Even so, he found the characters quite cool. He looked at the images, thinking up what they'd say or what the sfx would be. It was a fun thing for him to do. Once he turned 7, his parent's financial struggles were gone. They decided to put him in a primary school, since he seemed mature enough. But school had already started a while ago, so he'd be joining a class where the classmates already got to know each other decently well. They had to get him new clothes, which they did. They chose just the designs he disliked. He didn't complain or anything. He was grateful for everything he had. The first day of school went okay. He didn't talk to anyone, maybe just one or two words with someone he accidentally bumped into. He sat alone at his desk. His communication skills were horrible. There was some whispering when he entered the classroom, turning up late because his parents had to go and buy "something". The clothes he wore were considered lame by the kids in his class. He would have gone up ahead of the class, somewhat nervous. He didn't show it. He just had this one emotionless look. He'd introduce himself, sitting where the teacher told him to.He'd be looking around the classroom, studying the room and the people inside it. Everything was..colorful. It made his eyes hurt. The students wore clothes that were new to him. His parents told him that they had this one certain shop they liked to get his clothes at. They lied. They gave him the clothes his father used to wear, which were too big for Kaith. They looked somewhat funny on him, because they did not suit his face nor his body. Kaith knew that pretty well. He could hear the comments the kids behind him made.
"Weirdo."
"Why'd such a weirdo just out of nowhere join our class?... Ugh."
"Creepy!"
The kids didn't know other words to describe him. It was a weird thing to them, that someone would dress that way and appear so emotionless. They were raised in a happy surrounding, unlike Kaith. That was the huge difference between them. Well, it was also weird to them that someone just joins a class, in the middle of a school year. The first class was basically introductions. Nothing special. Kaith didn't remember much of the names. Just a few that particularly stuck out to him. When it was breaktime, some of the kids surrounded his desk. They began to ask him some personal questions.
"Why did you join this classroom?"
Was the question he could make out from all the kids asking at almost the same time. He just nervously stared at them, unsure what to say. He honestly did not know. The kids felt creeped out by that, quickly clearing the space around his desk. He was left alone for the rest of the day. Well, he didn't get bothered to say the least. The kids seemed scared by him. He didn't know how to feel about that.
A year has passed since he got into school. He's about 13 now and soon to hit puberty. He hasn't made any friends, but his communication skills are way better. His vocabulary has also gotten larger and better, which is awesome. He tends to exchange a couple of words with some classmates. He's never once had a good talk in his life, yet. The kids around him seemed okay with his presence, mostly. There was a certain group of guys and a few girls, who just loved picking on him. Always making horrendous comments about something that he liked. They have lately begun to do pranks on him, embarrassing him in front of everyone. The teachers didn't interfere with any of the bullying. Always spouting lies to children. The bullies still didn't do any harm to Kaith. For now. They were still too young for that. Vulgar and childish.
