I wanted to try getting into the city again but it was a sunny day. I never explored too much outside of Gray's workshop. I didn't want to be caught by any officers. I don't know what they'd do but I was panicky about it. I always liked to look up even though the high-levels looked foggy. The building roof was the closest I got but I still couldn't see the bridge-levels clearly. I was gonna try to get in today. I wanted to see it all properly. I think the biggest problem is how I look. I have to find clothes to fit in. The first time I got in the city was a clear day too. I got caught by an officer and Gray was nearby and told him that I'm his brother, even then. I got lucky that he was there. He told me not to try that again though. It was the first time I met him. He said no one else is gonna be as nice as him like that. I think that's the only time I've ever seen him outside of his workshop too. I've never really spoken to my neighbors but I think I have to ask them if they any clothes that could help me fit in the city.
I got to the closest hut next to mine which didn't take too long since I run so fast. I was a little out of breath but I was okay. I didn't know how to knock on a tent like Gray taught me to do on doors so I just loudly said "hello" by the front. A man came out quickly. He had a big black, gray and white beard. He was shorter than Gray and I think I'll be taller than him when I turn 12. I'll probably huge by then, right?
"Everything okay?" the man asked me and he looked around me on both sides, turning his head wide left and right. His eyes opened wide when he first saw me but he looked normal when he looked down on me again. I kinda didn't know what to say when I opened my mouth.
"Uh, hi. My name is Adam Stark and I live over there." I said, pointing to my tent. I don't know why I was so nervous.
"I know, I've seen you around." He said with a smile, the mustache from his beard covering his lips. "Anything I could help you with?"
"I wanted to see if you have uh, any clothes that would make someone look like they fit in the city." I said.
"Hmm, I believe I do. Although, I wouldn't recommend that person go broadly into the city if they don't belong there." He said with a finger pointing towards the city wall.
"It's not for me." I lied.
"Ah okay," the man said with another smile. "Well you tell that person to be careful. I used to live in the city and I can tell you that the cops can crack down on you pretty hard if they spot you. Make sure they have a good story to come up with for the authorities, okay?"
I think I tricked him pretty well. Now I have to come up with a reason now on who I am, too though. He had a good point even though I was smart enough to trick him.
"One minute." He said before going into his tent. He came out a little while later with some clothes. "They might be a little big for whoever this is going to but it should do. And let me know if you ever need anything else."
"Thank you," I said. I took the clothes and went home to check them out and try them on. They looked pretty cool, I must admit. There was a smooth black jacket and grayish-green pants that shined in the light and a shirt with a planet on it. There was writing on it but I didn't know what it said. I quickly changed into them and headed out.
I was nervous when I was about to get out into the city from the tunnel but I knew I had to make sure I looked like I belonged. I tried hard not to look around too much and stick out but it was the first time I could see everything clearly after I peeked through the alley where the tunnel lead through. I saw a man with a pink bowl-looking hat over his head walk by me first. It was kind of clear so I guess he could see out of it. He had a mustache too. It was long and curled up with a squiggle on both ends. A woman across the street had some kind of glasses that went all around the side of her face where the glasses were. It was green and a single downwards line of light on it went through from the right side to the left all around them. I think she was pretty ugly though. Maybe she was wearing those to hide her ugliness. She wasn't close to me but I could see her weird eyebrows and big chin from all the way over here. She had a nose that horned down. The girls I saw last time were very pretty. Especially the one with black hair. Her eyes were blue, I remember. No, maybe green. It was hard to say since it was raining. But I remember her being very beautiful when she smiled at me. I didn't care anyway. I had to find a way to the upper levels.
