Max and I were outside for probably half an hour. We decided to go back inside. It. Was. Packed. There was hardly any space to walk. Music was booming and the house was already trashed. Max didn't seem to care though.
I followed him to the living room and I saw Josh and Hailey talking.
What was this weird feeling I was getting. Seeing Josh with Hailey really didn't sit right with me.
Was I jealous? No. No, I definitely was not. There's no way I like Joshua Evans. No way. He was a jerk, he is a jerk and he will always be a jerk. I just don't think Hailey and Josh would be a cute couple. I mean, I really didn't want Josh and Hailey to start dating. Not because I like Josh, but because Hailey only wants to date Josh because he is popular and cute. Josh deserves so much better.
Max asked Hailey, Lily, Justin, Josh, Chad and I if we all wanted to go upstairs and play truth or dare.
"Can I invite someone else to play too?" Chad asked.
"Yeah, you can." Max said.
Chad walked over to the crowd and he disappeared.
Max and the others started walking somewhere else and I followed them. We ended up in front of a door.
"Where does this door lead to?" I asked.
"Upstairs. I locked it up because that's the only place I don't want to get trashed. Although, it's fine if you guys come along." Max said.
We went to this huge room which was sort of the chill zone room. It had bean bag chairs and multiple vending machines. We all sat down in one huge circle and waited for Chad. Max and I just talked to each other about more random things. At the corner of my eye, I could see Josh staring at us. It looked like his head was about to explode. His face was an extremely bright red. It was pretty awkward because he was sitting next to me. Hailey was sitting next to him and trying her best to get his attention.
Chad came back and a girl was behind him. I recognized her straight away. She had beach blonde hair, super blue eyes and was really tanned. Her face was absolutely caked in make up and she had, what do you call it? Oh right. She had a model body. She was the head cheerleader of the school and was the school's popular girl. She was the type of girl all the teachers loved, and she would always get whatever she wanted. I recognized her from my Maths and Chemistry class. I don't have much to say about her except for her appearance. I know her name is Rebecca. We haven't really talked to each other, so I don't know her that well.
Chad sat next to Justin and Rebecca sat next to Chad.
"I'll start. Sophie, truth or dare?" Max asked.
"Dare." I said, feeling brave.
"Starting with dare are we? I dare you to text the last person on your contact list, and tell them that you have some chips and if they wanted some." Max said.
"Easy." I said.
I opened my messages and went to the very bottom of my contact list. My heart withered when I saw the name of the person at the bottom of my contact list. Grandma Lucy. Max was watching over my shoulder and everyone was staring at me. I never deleted Grandma Lucy's number or our chats. I just couldn't. Sometimes I would read our messages together when I really missed her.
I could feel I was on the verge of crying, but I was not about to start crying in front of everyone, so I just typed in the words and sent it. It took a few minutes for me to look up again.
"You can just tell us what the person says when they answer." Max said.
"They're not going to." I said looking at him right in the eye. I don't know how I didn't start crying right then and there.
Max looked at me with a look of confusion then Chad asked Rebecca, truth or dare.
"Dare." Rebecca said.
"I dare you to kiss the hottest person in the room." Chad said.
Rebecca stood up and kissed...
