When Carlotta wakes up late the next morning, the traces of the previous night can be clearly seen. Her wrists are slightly blue and swollen, and there are a few hickeys on her neck. Her hair is completely tangled and her one shoulder doesn't look completely healed either. She turns on her other side and blinks against the light. But Luke still doesn't see her.
After a shower and a failed attempt to at least cover the hickeys, she goes downstairs to the dining room to have breakfast. Knowing Luke, he is already eating something with her friends. But when she enters the room the mood is sombre and Luke is not to be seen either. Carlotta goes to her seat and sits down. Her mother gives her a pained look. "What happened?" asks Carlotta immediately. The only question buzzing around in her head is where Luke is. June doesn't answer, but just prints around a bit. In her desperation to avoid the answer, she looks at her sister. Pippa puts in. "Luke really loves you, but him being there yesterday was supposed to be reconciliation as well as goodbye. He can't live with the guilty conscience every time he looks at you after what happened with Vera and he still flew home last night." She lowers her eyes.
Benedikt rises and goes to his daughter. "She it positive darling, you are free again and can date a noble. So maybe you'll bring honour back to the House of Kaichonski-Warren. This guy is not worth it!" With that, Benedict has definitely gone too far. Carlotta jumps up and pushes the table away from her. "First of all, I'm not your darling Benedict, Yes, I'm your daughter, but you haven't taken care of me for seventeen and a half years and therefore I won't consider you my father either!" She pauses for a moment of art in which her father tries to say something but is interrupted by June. "Secondly, you don't even know Luke! I don't care about the noble types, just like all this shit. You just want to marry me off to some rich family so I can bring honour back to the house your family broke back then. Yeah, I read the family chronicle and I know all about it! Don't you dare order me around! Have a nice day!" With these words she disappears back to her room where she came from. On the way there, she meets Johanna and Helen, who both seem to be in a very good mood. They look after her a little curiously and grin as Benedikt comes towards them. "Is she in her room?" he asks them, but they just shrug. If the day starts like this, Carlotta will not leave her room for the whole day and, if at all, will only go to raid the fridge once late at night.
When they arrive in the dining room, all they hear is Carlotta screaming and a short time later Benedikt Kaminski. "Leave me the hell alone! I don't want to be part of your family, when will you understand that?" Immediately after Carlotta's voice Benedikt can be heard shouting, "But you also belong to the Kaminski family, that's what the Kaichonski family came from! And don't you dare talk to me like that!" Nothing is heard for a moment, then a large rucksack falls past the window and Carlotta jumps in after it, carrying a transport box in her hand.
Benedikt curses loudly and runs down the stairs, outside, but Carlotta has already been quicker and runs down from the estate through the large iron gate. Although Benedikt is relatively tall, he can't catch up with her, and certainly not after he trips over a root and kisses the ground.
Meanwhile, Carlotta has arrived in the night village and says goodbye to the family she helped when their house was broken. They all look a lot healthier and have enough food for the whole family thanks to Carlotta. As soon as she has said goodbye to them, she runs to the bus stop and takes the next bus towards the city.
