Just like Taehyung said, the university is full of people. The sun has set by the time we get there, but the parking lot is still full of cars and the entrance is cramped with people both leaving and entering. When we reach the stairs leading to the main entrance, Taehyung spins around with an angry face.
"It's about time you leave me alone," he hisses. "I don't know you and I don't want to be seen with you here."
"Jeez, chill. I wasn't planning on hanging with you all night either way. At least now you understand how annoying it is to get stalked by someone."
Our conversation ends abruptly when someone yells at him from the parking lot.
"Taehyung? I thought you said you wouldn't come."
I look over and it doesn't come as a surprise that it's Jimin who has spotted us, or rather spotted Taehyung. He's standing next to his parents car, apparenly about to leave. I should slip away before he notices that it's me. Taehyung doesn't say anything else and I walk past him to get into the building. I have his camera secured around my neck. I haven't deleted the pictures yet though. I'll keep them until I'm back in the shed. I don't have anything else to do there, so I might as well see what kind of juicy gossip I can get out the camera before I destroy it.
The inside of the university is decorated with balloons and colored lights. There's confetti on the floor, so they probably had some kind of celebration before I got here. There's people literally everywhere. Seems like this open house attracted both young and old. There's not much going on around these parts, so this might be the most fun this town has seen in a while. I swiftly make my way past the bigger crowds and continue on towards the science labs. I need to get my hands on that oxygen tank.
My balance gets disrupted when someone bumps into my shoulder from behind. Apparently he's is heading the same way as I am.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to- Huh? Jungkook-hyung?"
It's of course none other than Seokjin. I knew it the second he bumped into me. He seems surprised to see me here. It's not that strange since I'm technically still supposed to be in the shed. He looks around before pulling me by the arm into another corridor. It's much darker and quieter here since there are no festivities going on.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" he hisses at me. "What if someone sees you? I came here with my parents for fuck's sake!"
"I didn't know that. You just disappeared and didn't tell me anything."
"No, because they asked me if I wanted to go with them out of nowhere and I realized that it might be a good idea to look for some parts for the machine. I had no time to warn you beforehand."
"Seems like we had the same idea then. I was just heading to the science lab."
He smiles at that.
"Me too. I asked Namjoon if he had any ideas and he-"
Seokjin stop talking when someone approaches and he quickly grabs me again and runs away even further. At this rate we'll end up at the wrong side of school but I guess it can't be helped. We shouldn't get seen together, not even by strangers in case they know about my run-in with the police. Stupid Taehyung, it's all his fault. To think that one of my best friends spent his time doing shit like that as a child. I should give him an earful when I get back home.
Seokjin keeps dragging me across half the school just to avoid meeting someone. He's oddly familiar with the layout of this place. Eventually we reach the science labs from the other direction. We're both out of breath, so it's hard to stay quiet even when he shushes me. He opens the door, quickly checking if there's someone there before slinking in. I follow him.
