The Book Of Flowers

Chapter 2

Mary and Jane start right away when they enter my room. They had me sit down in front of my mirror and started to undo my braids. I should've taken them out before I fell asleep...

"Oh dear, your hair..." Mary says.

"I probably should've taken them out before I fell asleep."

I let them brush through my hair and try their best to get it as presentable as possible. They then start to put rollers in my hair which are very annoying. I turn my head and look out my window. The sun is setting and the sky is a beautiful pink and orange.

30 minutes pass and they start to remove the rollers from my hair.

"Is this the hairstyle you wanted Miss Estella?" Mary asks.

"Oh, yes! Thank you, it looks wonderful!"

After they add the finishing touches to my hair they start on my makeup. I hate sitting still for a long time so they normally go pretty quickly. It takes them about 20 minutes to finish my makeup.

"Estella, it's time for you to get your dress on." Jane says.

I walk over to my closet and grab my dress. I take a quick glance at it and remember all the tiny details in it. My dress is a floor length forest green skirt and a white bodice with flowers on it. I walk over to Jane and Mary so they can assist me with putting it on.

"My dear, you look absolutely stunning!" Jane gleams.

"A dress for a princess!" Mary says, smiling.

I go and add my accessories and then stand in the mirror. A few moments later my mother enters the room to add the final touches. She grabs my tiara and puts it on from behind me.

"You look beautiful, Estella. Happy 16th birthday dear." She hugs me.

"Thank you, mother."

"I'll be in the main hall for your entrance. Sebastian will walk you to the doors." She exits my room.

"Jane, my hair got a little messed up. Can you fix it for me please?" I ask.

"Of course."

"Thank you!" I smile.

Jane fixes my hair really quickly and just in time. I hear a knock on my door, I look in the mirror one last time, put my shoes on, and walk over to the door.

"Thank you both, I appreciate you both so much!"

"No need to thank us, it's our job dear." Mary says.

I open my door and Sebastian is out there waiting for me. "Are you ready Stell?" He asks with a slight blush on his face.

"Yep!"

He wraps his arm around my arm and we start making our way to the doors of the main hall. The walk is mostly quiet.

"You look beautiful, Estella." He smiles.

"Oh, thank you." I smile and my face starts to feel warm.

He looks down at me and smiles even bigger than before. We arrive at the doors and he hugs me before I go through the doors. I then hear the announcement of my entrance.

"All stand for the arrival of Princess Estella!" He shouts.

The doors start to open slowly and I see a ton of people with their eyes all on me. They start to clap and cheer at seeing me. This is my first event where I am the main attraction. I walk over to the railing so I don't fall or stumble on the way down. I make it to the bottom of the stairs where I am met with Sebastian again. He wraps his arm around mine and takes me to my seat. We pass a lot of princes from other kingdoms on the way there and they just keep staring at me. I arrive at my seat and Sebastian leaves to stand with the other guards.
