(Aubrey p.o.v)
Soft music plays in my room, I grabbed my bag and smelt the ground up weed. Sighing heavily, my door opens to my mum peering in.
"Yo, do you have some for me?" I blink in confusion before handing her my own bag.
"Yeah...?" Mum grabbed the bag and smelt it before nodding with a small hum. "Like it?"
"Yeah, pinching some, see ya— wait! Before I forget, remember school is tomorrow and don't forget your trunk, ticket, teddy and..." she kept clicking her fingers as she tried to remember, "Oh! Don't forget your brother, your sister and make sure you have all your books."
"Done, done, cat cage is ready, Brodie and Lily are fine, and you got all my books a week ago." I replied as I packed my bong. She peers into the cone and nods with a small pout of pride.
"Good girl, Aubrey," she pinches my cheek before hands my bag back. "Don't smoke too much, see you in the morning."
"Night mum." She left my room and I sighed.
Smoke filled my room as I coughed, I pulled too hard, "fuck sake," I wheezed as my hand waved to clear the smoke away.
-
"Woah, either I'm stoned as all hell or that's actually a flying car..." I watched the headlights in the sky fly over houses. I squint my eyes to see three red-heads and a brown-haired boy. I groan softly knowing exactly who was in the car, I could tell who they were straight away.
"Weasley's and Potter," I muttered, inhaling softly from my joint before exhaling the smoke. I fixed my robe and shrugged my shoulders as I changed the music and laid on my bed.
—
"When did I fall asleep?" I ask myself as I sat up straight, "Merlin's beard-"
"-AUBREY!" I scrambled out of bed and rushed to get changed, throwing on my sweater and jeans, I hopped around my room in shear panic.
"WHAT?!" I shout back.
"WE NEED TO GO!" I closed my bong in its case along with my trunk. I picked everything up and ran out of my room. Teddy meows as mum ushered the three of us out of the house and into the car. My mother was an Auror, my father... well, he was in Azkaban, we don't talk about him.
"I'm hungover," I groaned as I sat down in the car beside Lily and Brodie, they squashed me into the middle seat.
"Shut up, you," Lily grins as the car starts moving.
"I swear I saw a flying car last night," I told my mum.
"You were very stoned last night," she waved me off as she focused on where she was going.
"No, I'm serious," I replied as I glanced at the gloomy sky.
"She's right, mum, look at the daily prophet," Brodie shows the clipping to our mum as she side-eyes it.
"Great Scott, she's right," mum said in surprise as she focused back on the road.
"Why are we travelling muggle style?" Lily questions.
"To blend in," mum sighs.
"Okay..."
—
"Bye mum," we all said as we got into our compartment, waving goodbye. Mrs Weasley was waving to her sons and daughter as they were a compartment or two away from us. I watched as my mum sneers slightly toward Mrs Weasley, they haven't seen eye to eye in years.
"Good grief..." I muttered, sitting down. I wasn't allowed to be friends with any Gryffindors who were red-headed or were associated by relation with the Weasley's.
To give some back-story, Mrs Weasley didn't like my mum very much after finding out that we smoke a lot, said we were a bad influence on her kids. We usually smoke because it relaxes our anxiety, but I do it to feel numb. Mr and Mrs Weasley weren't fond of us also because of my father and the whole Azkaban thing.
"Too bad I can't have a joint on the train," I muttered to Teddy as we sat alone in a carriage.
The only time I smoke at school is with a group in the Hufflepuff common room late at night beside the wide open window. We sometimes use a spell to make the smoke smell like baked cookies if it's real potent though.
—
"Merlin, are we there already?" I muttered as the train came to a screeching halt. The pistons hiss as the doors open for everyone to leave the train. I got up with teddy and my belongings swiftly, fixing my Hufflepuff scarf.
"Oi, pothead!" I turn my head and start laughing as Cedric ran up and slung an arm round my neck.
"Hey, Ced, what's up buddy?" I ask as he fixes my beanie.
"Wanna jump in the carriage with me?" I nod as we climbed up into the dark carriage with the rest of our group and set off once it was full of people.
"Are we going to have a good year this year?" I asked him as we lean our backs on the railing.
"Probably not since Harry Potter is at school," I laughed at my friends comment as we made our way to the castle.
"Did you hear about Gilderoy Lockhart?" I asked them with a stifled laugh, "he's full of it, I swear on my life."
"Oh yeah, absolutely," Katrina replies, "probably lied about everything he looks dumb as bricks from the book shop in Diagon Alley." My eyebrows raised.
"Was he in blots?" She nods her head at me.
"Potter was there, looked real scared to be near the blithering idiot when he got his picture taken with him for the Daily Prophet." We all crack up a laugh.
"No way, I would be grossed out," Darcy replies.
"Me too sister," we fist bump before my eyes caught the Twins in the carriage before us. Fred and George were with Lee Jordan, the schools Quidditch Commentator. Angelina Johnson, the Gryffindor Chaser and Katie Spinnet, another chaser for Gryffindor were all together.
"Fancy a red-head or two?" I shake my head slowly.
"Out of bounds I'm afraid, mother won't let me near the knuckleheads." I chuckle softly, "would be fun to cause some mayhem however..."
"Bummer."
-
"Do I have to?" I asked Mrs Sprout before she ushered me off to our table while Dumbledore rose to his feet and McGonagall tapped her goblet with a teaspoon. The hall falls silent as I sat down beside Cedric.
"I'm too hungry for this shit," I mumbled to myself, blocking out the Sorting hats song, Dumbledores speech that's the same every year and Gilderoy blabbing on about how "wonderful" he is.
"Let the feast begin."
"Finally!" I cheered as I began eating with full speed.
"Munchies?" I look up and mock a laugh at Darcy before falling silent, nodding my head. Darcy laughs loudly at me before I threw a pea at her.
"Shuddup," I giggle before devouring a chicken drumstick.
"Mm, someone smells like baked cookies," I grin as Fred and George look in my direction.
"Me, boys," they met my eyes and then heavily sigh as they didn't talk to me. "Bummer, I'd like to get me a taste of some pumpkin soup."
"You talking about the red heads?" I curt a nod at Darcy while I watch the twins.
"Two bowls of mischief making pumpkin soup." I lick my lips softly before shrugging as I went back to my food. "Stupid out of bounds rule."
"You'll find a way. You always do." I nod slowly in response.
"Smoking with me when we leave?" I ask Darcy.
"You fucking bet, mate." We fist bump before chowing down dinner.
I will get those boys to hang out with me if it's the last thing I do.
