~kaylee's p.o.v.~
It has been about a week since i came back from the dead. Mr. Frank's memorial service was beautiful, the preacher let me throw a bucket of purple paint (that was his favorite color) on his gravestone. I cried when i watched it seep into the ground where his body should've been. Warren told me the whole story of where Mr. Frank's body had gone, and why my hands have been stained yellow, blue and red. ...i haven't drawn since.
I have tried very hard to forget the awful things i saw... i did. So i've begun to distract myself with the fact that today is the day. I walked down the hallways many twists and turns, running my fingers along the cold, metal walls as i went. Today is the day that the doctor is supposed to let me meet his best friend river, that gave her life for him (how she's alive, i do not know.), and open this majestic fob watch of destiny thing. I knocked on jack's door, he hasn't spoken to me since the whole 'i love you' situation, "do you wanna build a snowman?" I joked half-heartedly.
"Go away, kaylee."
"Jack, you can't stay upset with us forever... we haven't even talked about it since that night."
There was silence on the other side of the door, then he said, "do you want to talk about it?" He peeked his head out the door.
"What? with you?" I laughed a little, he gave me a look, "wait. You're serious?" He nodded. i shrugged, "sure."
He shut the door behind us. We sat down on the bed and leaned against the main frame. He let me lean into his chest.
"he shouldn't have done that to you."
"What? Say he loves me then bascially avoids me?"
He nodded, then paused, thinking over his next sentence, "you know...i'd never do that to you." He rubbed my arm.
I sighed, then looked up at him, "yeah, i know." And i nestled deeper into the crook in his neck. I could feel his smile without even looking at his face.
~meanwhile, with the doctor and river, river's p.o.v.~
I honestly have no idea why ten called me in here today. To see him drool over his new companion? No. He doesn't know what the future holds for us..yet, i think. I flipped through the yellowed pages of my blue diary and began to write a message to the psychic paper in ten's coat pocket, "1945, New York, Hooverville." That's where i've been for the past few days, stuck in a run-down dump living through the great depression. But one day i'm going to get my own vortex manipulator and be able to travel without hitch-hiking. I heard a whirring sound coming from the woods. I ran towards the noise, fabulously, i might add, in my six inches, until i saw the TARDIS spin into view, taking out a few bushes with her. I walked back a few steps, needing a running start, then i jogged forward and jumpes, landing right ontop of the doctor, "hello, sweetie." I smiled and got up, pulling him with me. I brushed off his suit.
"River! Why 1945? Why were you there? Why not somewhere...sunnier?"
I laughed and pulled down a lever, stopping the TARDIS from making that whirring noise he loves so much. Sorry, sweetie. Then I got slightly more serious, "is it true?"
"Possibly. That's why i called you in here today... so you two can talk girl to girl and you can try and persuade her to do it if she struggles."
"I don't know much about timelords. Besides what you've told me." He steered me around.
"That should be enough... hopefully."
I looked back at him as i walked down the rattling floor around the console, i hat to see him with this other girl, she might change his future...our future.
