Grief pt.2

^^^Melody^^^ (Do you like?)

"How long till she wakes up?" A male voice asks.

"Soon, Dr. Minton gave her a 15 hour sedate," A deep familiar voice says beside me.

"I'm surprise she hasn't woken up since shes post to be strong, being a Alpha mate and daughter and all," A girl voice answers back snidely.

A loud growl erupts beside me and the grip that is being held on my hand increases. I open my eyes a little to see the person who growled when I'm met with two bright hazel eyes staring at the girl who spoke beside me.

"Ember?" I whisper hoarsely and open my eyes wider ignoring the dull pain in my head.

"Rosie, thank goddess your awake. I was getting worried that the doctor gave you something stronger that what he said," Ember says smoothing my hair out of my face.

I let out a cough and sit up slowly. Ember picks up a glass of water from the nightstand and brings it to my lips. I swallow the cold liquid and let out a sigh.

"What happened? Why did a doctor give me a sedate?" I ask feeling confused at the previous conversation

"Um, you don't remember anything?" He asks looking dumbfounded.

I shake my head and look around at the people in the room. A girl who looked a little older than me and a boy who looked strangely like Ember. Who are these people and where am I?

"Your home. Our home. And this is my twin sister Melody and my younger brother Alcee." Ember answers the question I must have spoken out loud, I do that a lot.

Wait a twin sister? I look more closely at Melody and see no similar features that she shares with Ember. But Alcee looks just like Ember but younger. Hmm...

"It's not nice to stare you know," Melody snaps at me.

I give her a shocked look over her tone and jump at the sound of a growl coming from Ember.

"Shut up Melody or I'll make you regret talking that way toward my mate," He says standing up and takes a step toward his sister.

She widens her eyes and shoots me a glare before stomping out of the room. How can a gorgeous girl like her have a attitude like that. She was really pretty in my opinion but personality wise made her ugly.

She didn't even look like Ember with her middle length black hair and grey eyes. Meanwhile Alcee had a kind look about him. He had brown hair like Embers but he had light brown eyes, not hazel.

"Ember what happened?" I ask again feeling angry that I didn't remember anything besides yesterday morning.

"Well... Rosie I don't know how to really say this, but we had to sedate you when you started to have a panic attack over Delilah's death," He says sadly and rubs my knuckles with his fingers.

I let out a gasp when a image of Delilah covered in blood enters my mind. She's gone, she's really gone. Forever.

"Rosie I know you don't know me, but I want you to know how sorry I am over your loss," Alcee says standing from the chair he was sitting in and sits at the end of my bed.

I nod and bite my lip trying not to break down like I wanted to. Ember says something to Alcee and makes him get up. He walks to the door giving me a last look full of sadness and walks out after shooting a glare at Ember.

"Did they find out who it was that hurt my best friend?" I ask feeling a shiver go through my cold body.

Ember shakes his head and looks away. I start shivering more and realize that I was shaking the whole entire bed. I grab onto Ember's hand and pull him to lay with me.

"Why am I shaking like this? I feel like a ice box," I ask trying to bathe in his warmth.

"It's probably the withdrawal from the sedate. Dr. Minton told me that you would show some side effects," He says holding me close and tucking the blanket around us.

"I can't believe she's gone. It feels just like yesterday when we first met at the lake. So many memories that we had together. So many secrets we swore to each other to always keep. Why did it have to be so soon?" I sob out into Embers chest.

"She wanted a mate so bad. She wanted someone to give all her heart to and somebody just took it away from her. Now her mate is mateless and doesn't even know it yet. I don't think I could live without you Ember, now that I have you," He rubs my back and soothes me with his touch, after my sobbing goes down a little.

I snuggle my head into his neck and breathe in his musky scent. I'm glad I found him. I feel horrible that Delilah didn't find her mate, she wanted him so badly. At the time I didn't want a mate and she did. I feel like I was a thief, taking what she wanted.

"Rosie I'm so happy that I found you. I have searched for you ever since I turned 17. Four long years I waited and wished for you. And baby I'm so glad that I did wait for you. I can't imagine a world with out you now. I love you," Ember says looking down into my tearful eyes.

"I love you to. I'm sorry for the way I've been acting about us. I just hope you can be patient with me," I say swallowing the tears back.

"Little mate there is nothing I would rather do then to be patient with you. As long as your mine and everybody knows it, then I'm fine to wait awhile," He says knowing I'm talking about the mating process.

"Thank you," I whisper and I kiss his soft lips.
