What a "Lovely" surprise

Gaege joyfully tapped his hand on the steering wheel as he thought of Eddie; it was now their one-year anniversary. Singing along to his favorite song, he picked up his phone and started texting Eddie to see if he was busy. Gaege's eyebrows furrowed after receiving no response from Eddie in a short couple of minutes. Odd.

Gaege shrugged it off though and decided to go to the store and pick up some things for Eddie as it would be rude not to get him anything on their anniversary. Parking his car, he got out and approached the quite busy store. A huge smile pulled at the corners of his lips when a beautiful bouquet of flowers caught his eye. This is enough, right? He thought to himself, he didn't want to be too "cheesy".

He shook his head with a shadow of a grin displayed on his face and paid for the flowers before heading back to the car and driving off. The smile still remained on Gaege's face as he continued to think about his future with Eddie and what he truly wanted. His thoughts were pushed aside when he pulled up to a familiar building that he always admired as there was beautiful landscapes surrounding it.

Getting out of his car, the young man took in the beautiful decorations and grabbed the delightful smelling flowers which sat in the passenger seat. Slamming the car door and locking it, he approached his boyfriends house. Gaege stopped in front of the door and raised his fist, however, his fist never made contact with the door. Gaege felt nervous even though this was the 100 millionth time he had knocked on his door. Without thinking, Gaege grabbed the doorknob and opened the door, furrowing his eyebrows when everything was silent.

"Eddie?" He yelled, closing the door behind him and clutching the bouquet of flowers in his hand tightly. Gaege looked around, setting down his keys. He halted when he heard a familiar shout come from Eddie's bedroom. William? What was he doing here?

Gaege walked down the long corridor, approaching Eddie's bedroom door. The quiet groans got more evident and Gaege's face smoldered in resentment. Gaege rattled the doorknob slowly, noticing it was locked. Gaege would have normally accepted that and walked away but he was fed up and angry; so he did as he pleased and kicked open the door.

Gaege looked at the two men tangled up in the sheets in horror; mentally preparing himself wasn't enough for the sight that was right in front of him. "Shit! Gaege, I-" Eddie started, scrambling to get off William who was frozen on the spot.

Gaege shook his head, his furious set of eyes fixed on his boyfriend who struggled to get dressed. 'Please tell me I'm dreaming!' He thought, lowering his head as angry tears swelled up in his eyes. Eddie glanced down at the bouquet of flowers that Gaege held in his shaking hands, guilt and regret evident on his face.

Gaege flinched when Eddie tried to approach him, he couldn't look Eddie in the eyes as something that could have been so fucking special was ruined. A whole year down the drain. "How long?" Gaege finally spoke nonchalantly, his bottom lip trembling as tears streamed down his face. While Eddie and Gaege were so focused on each other, William managed to get dressed and walked out before he ruined anything else.

"Baby-" Eddie started, "How long!" Gaege shouted at him, pushing Eddie in spite of anger. Eddie looked taken aback by this and looked away from Gaege, not knowing what to say. "God, I can't believe I fell for your shit," Gaege muttered, turning on his heels and throwing the bouquet of flowers on the floor. Gaege felt even more angry than sad, as if his heart had just been shattered into millions of pieces.

Eddie didn't dare follow Gaege but instead drowned himself in guilt, 'Why did I do this?' He thought, his eyes glancing up as he heard the door slam shut harshly. This was fucking ridiculous, Eddie promised and Gaege fell for it. The younger man drove off, tears still fell but that didn't stop him from planning how he was going to make Eddie regret what he did to him.
