As any good fairy tail story would say.

Once upon a time within this magical world of Beasts, Magic, and Kings & Queens. There's a small village that lived a young girl along with her father and her brother. This small family didn't have much, but the father strived to provide for his children. Their father would spend his mornings with them, telling tall tales of hero's and adventure, only to night watch at the boarder of the kingdom in which they serve.

The young girl was playful and kind, while her older brother was watchful and protective of his sister. The two siblings would wander the forest looking for streams to fish and catch small crustaceans to bring back home. While their father slept in the evenings, the older brother would cook for himself and his beloved younger sister.

However, within the next couple of years the young girl started to noticed that her brother started to leave the house longer with each passing seasons. Until one night, the young girl woke up and saw her brother crying in their fathers arms. Worried the young girl stepped closer.

Father: "Catherine! Get back inside! Now!"

Her father never yelled at her like that before. Hurt that she might have done something bad, she returned to her room. Laying in her bed the young girl softly cried, unsure of what happened between her father and brother. The next day was just like any normal day, but it felt quieter than usual. Her kind brother later became cold and elusive. As for her father, even though would give his daughter a smile, his face would look sad and lonely.

Then after a few months later, the girl and her father were taking a walk to see the traveling market that has stopped in their village. Lately her father seemed to have been in a better mood than lately. The young girl was happy to see that her father has been doing well for himself, but her brother has yet to stop staying out late for who knows what reasons.

Then just as the two family members were about to leave the market, her father pulled her to the side and had a worried look on his face.

Father: "...Listen my dear. I want to ask you, how would you feel if you were able to get another mother? I understand that this is a bit out of the blue for you. N-Nothing is really set in stone or anything. I just want to know what you think about something like that happening?"

Catherine wasn't even sure what to think. Her mother ran out on her and the rest of the family. It all happened when she was just 6 years of age. She would never forget that day when it happened. It was early spring, as the sun hung around midday. Her mother jumped on her horse, as she was about to run off. Catherine held onto her mother begging her not to leave. Only for her mother to push her away and rush off towards distance lands. The young child cried for the whole day until she fell asleep. Now, Catherine was just happy living with her father and brother. She didn't really think that she needed a mother. But looking at her fathers face, even she could see that her father was happy and in love.

Catherine: "I don't mind if I get another mother. Who knows it might be fun having more family around the house."

Her father smiled happy to hear that her daughter wasn't against the idea of having a new mother. As the next months came and went it was the end of summer, and the day that he got married to the woman that he was in love with. However, something her father forgot to tell her was that, her new mother came with a new little sister and a younger brother. Even at first the two didn't seem well behaved. The two were always causing a ruckus in their home. Always crying when they didn't get their way. Ever since her new mother and siblings came to live with them. Everything felt like a classic Cinderella story. The stepmother not really caring for her new children, only her own. The step siblings beating her with sticks and their toys. She even was given most of the chores to do and clean. As for her brother, she never saw him at the house during the day anymore. He only returned to have something to eat and a place to sleep. The once happy home that she once knew was falling apart. Her father looked more tired and beat down than before. From his daughter's ears, it seemed like his new wife looked down on him. Complaining about this and that.

Just when her new family wasn't chaotic enough, a new baby was born into the chaos. Catherine never seen an infant before, she thought that he was cute and look like her father. But stepmother refused for her to be near him. Casting this young girl out in her own family once again.

Sad and lonely she didn't really have any other place to go. Sure she had friends and other relatives that she could go see and play with. But everything still felt lonely.

That was until the royal messenger drop by at their door delivering a letter to invite them to the new king and queen's wedding...
