It was every adventurer's calling to seek the world tree. Perhaps the biggest mystery surrounding the little island of Portolia. A special kind of magic could be found from those verdant leaves that stretched to the heavens—a purity that only the gods could attain. It was that very magic that drew so many to investigate the sprawling tree. Everyone sought Yggdrasil to answer one question: what is its purpose?
The very waters surrounding the tree were impassable by boat or ship. All who attempted to cross those waters were swiftly brought to an end. Was this the will of Yggdrasil? Or the work of something else? No one knew, and as such, everyone could only enter from land.
Once inside, adventurers were greeted by the beautiful greenery Yggdrasil offered, and by something much greater yet terrifying: beasts beyond human comprehension. Guardians of the world tree, perhaps? Regardless of what they were, even the smallest of monsters wandering the expanse that was the massive tree proved to end the lives of many an unsuspecting adventurer. The residents of Portolia knew all too well the dangers that accompanied excursions inside. Who knew what could happen to the peaceful island if the guardians of Yggdrasil were to get out? As such, it became a decree by the house of power within the island. A call to action for every single willing and able explorer to seek the depths of Yggdrasil and uncover its secrets.
This is one such tale of a young woman and her future companions. Be it for fame, glory, or intellectual curiosity, a brave group of five had come together from different walks of life to uncover the mystery of Yggdrasil, and explore its vast depths. Though dangers galore await them, they charge in together, their courage and companionship acting as their anchors.
