TW:miscarriage!
I woke up from surgery, blinding white lights. Back in a hospital bed; right now all I wanted was to see Joe. Sarah is in LA with Jaden and I think Joe's packing his bags for Georgia. I look around for my phone, it was beside me. There was 20 missed calls, jeez whoever did this it must've been an emergency. Then I opened my phone, it was Sarah. I pressed her contact and called her. ''LEXIE I KNOW YOU HAD SURGERY BUT SOMETHING HAPPENED''she cried. ''WHAT''I whisper yelled so nurses wouldn't hear me. ''I think I lost the baby''her voice cracked. ''no''I was hit with sadness. ''theres alot of blood, and I'm in so much pain''she was sobbing inbetween words. ''come on we have to go to the hospital''I heard Jaden in the background. ''I'm sorry Lex but Sarahs gotta go''Jaden said. I heard Sarah scream and the phone call ended.

A nurse came to check on me. ''how are you''She asked. ''could be better''I shrugged. ''I'm sorry you wanna talk about it''the nurse checked my monitor. ''nah I want my boyfriend''I talked. ''What's his name''she went over to the computer. ''joe burrow''I said. ''Uhh, Joseph Burrow''she asked. ''oh yeah''I said. ''hes in the waiting room, I'll get him. Everything looks fine Miss greenwood''the nurse left to get Joe. I then saw Joe's tall shadow and he opened the door to my room. ''Well your alive''he patted my left foot. ''that makes me feel alot better''I rolled my eyes.

Joe sat down in a chair, I waited until the nurse left to tell Joe about Sarah. ''alright now shes gone, something is happening to Sarah''I spoked. ''what''Joe came closer. ''I think shes miscarrying in LA, she called me but shes on the way to the hospital''I looked a deep breath. ''holy shit, is she ok. What about Jaden is he there; I havent heard from him since this morning''Joe stressed. ''Joe calm down, but I think they're fine I dont know I only got to talk like 2 minutes since Sarah was screaming''I exhaled.

The surgeon then walked through the door. ''Well your getting discharged today, everything looks fine; youll have to use crutches and wear a brace for like 6 weeks and come back for checkups''he said. I nodded and Joe and the surgeon helped me out of the bed. I used the crutches down the hall and then Joe got my bags. ''have a nice day Lexie, and remember to take it easy''everyone told me the same thing as i left the hospital.

Joe helped in his car and drove me to Sarah's apartment, where only Whiskers was in there. ''I'll help you for the next few days, but I dont know afterwards since Im going to georgia friday''Joe said opening the door. I got to the couch and sat down, forgetting how annoying crutches are. ''I'll be fine, Ill talk to sarah soon hopefully''I said. Hopefully she didnt lose the baby but I think its gone. ''you wanna watch a movie to take your mind off things''joe asked. ''yes''I said. Joe came over and laid down, turning on Topgun. One of my comfort movies, Joe laid in my lap while I played with his dirty blonde soft hair.  We skipped Goose's traumatic scene, because this day doesn't need anything worse.

I fell asleep at the end of the movie when Iceman and Slider got their award. Joe also fell asleep somewhere around the end of the movie. I had a vivid dream about Sarah coming back and we were all happy. But when I woke up reality hit me, it was dark outside and raining. Like it was gray and the sun was nowhere to be seen even if it was only 4pm. Joe was still holding onto me looking cute as always, I reached for my phone and then Whiskers jumped in my face. ''bro''I whispered. She meowed softly and sat on my chest. I texted Sarah knowing I might not get a response.

Jaden then texted from his phone. 'Sarah wants to facetime you' it read. 'Joes sleeping' I replied. 'Sarah needs you' Jaden responded. I groaned fathoming I would wake up Joe and Whiskers. I moved my legs and Joe held on tighter. ''Im going to talk to Sarah''I whispered to him. ''mhm''he mumbled in his sleep. I maneuvered through his tight grasp and hopped to Sarahs bedroom since it was closer. I then called Sarah.

When she answered her eyes were bloodshot, mascara all messed up. I wanted to cry with her but knew I should stay strong. ''Its gone, God took Jaden and I's creation''she sobbed. ''Im so sorry''I swallowed a lump in my throat. Jaden came over and took Sarahs phone since she really couldnt talk, ''The doctors couldnt do anything but give her ibuprofen''Jaden held onto her. ''We are booking a flight to NY so Sarah can see her mom too''Jaden. ''Wait I will too''I went onto Sarahs macbook. ''You really dont need too, you just surgery''Sarah took her phone back. ''No I'm fine, I have my crutches and some pain medicine I need to see you''I said. ''plus Joes going to Georgia anyways so I wont have anyone''I added.

I booked a flight with delta to Buffalo NY, I prayed not to see Josh. ''Well were gonna go get Mcdonalds because it always helps''Jaden said ending the call. ''You alright''Joe asked walking over to Sarahs room. ''I'm going to NY''I said. ''LEXIE YOU JUST HAD SURGERY''Joe yelled. ''yes I know but its for Saturday, I have crutches I'll be fine''I told him. Joe sighed because he was going to be at his game, and he couldnt stop me. ''Be safe''he said. ''I will, and Sarah did lose the baby so thats why I'm going''I said. ''yeah I should call Jaden I feel bad''Joe said sitting on Sarahs bed with me. ''I was really looking forward to being an uncle''Joe sighed. ''And I wanted to be an aunt''I looked down. Joe and I ordered Chinese take out and relaxed the rest of the night.

Authors note: I want Chinese food now. Also I hate snow, and the cold. I live on the upper east coast and it WONT stop being cold. Like I'm so done its the end of March and it feels like February outside. And im sorry if you felt uncomfortable this chapter, but miscarriage is a real thing and it hurts a lot of mothers physically and mentally! I promise itll be a happy ending, and thanks for 1k reads<3
