Garridan: The Infiltrator

Prologue Revised edition Part 1

Author's note: This fanfic is an adaptation of the Murder Drones series. There will be changes made to account for Garridan and the other OC's of mine involvement, but it will nevertheless follow the actual storyline and continuity as closely as possible. Expect Garridan to be involved in all the major events of the series unless it's not possible due to changing things too much.

Hope you like it. As always, feedback is welcome as long as its constructive.

My name is Garridan, or Gary as I'm known in my high school on Copper 9. Most of the students there see me as the typical high school jock worker drone, nothing too much out of the ordinary. However, unknown to them... I carry a carefully guarded secret, one none of them are even aware about. What is this secret you may ask? I'm not your standard worker drone that populates this planet, far from it as a matter of act.

Instead, I am a one of a kind type of drone, one that was given birth for a specific purpose. What is that purpose? I am here to save the worker drones from extinction, as well as destroy the AbsoluteSolver and all the psychotic murder drones it built to prey on them. Now before anyone starts asking questions like, "Who built you exactly and why did they task you with such a dangerous mission anyway?" Well, allow me to start from the beginning...

Many years ago, the JCJenson Corporation began a mining operation on Copper 9. Only major difference then was there were many humans inhabiting it as well. What happened to them exactly? Well, to put it bluntly... they got vaporized. A tragic accident occurred when the main core imploded, causing a nuclear winter in a sense. Every human on the planet was instantly killed, leaving all the worker drones there to continue on without them. Oddly enough, the worker drones were not only able to continue their mining without the humans; they soon became independent of their help as well, forming their own society. Sounds like a neat thing despite the loss of human life, right?

Unfortunately, this is where the story takes a dark turn. Not even a year after the core collapsed, a bunch of evil robots known as the disassembly drones showed up and began killing the worker drones in mass numbers.

Anyhow, before I go into detail about what happened next involving my scientist Dr. Green concerning their evil plans, I'd like to share with you his backstory to explain why he would eventually take a stand against the corporation and build me to fight against them.

Andrew Green began his career at JCJenson at the age of 22, becoming the youngest scientist to get hired there due to his super high IQ and dedication to the worker drone project. Next to his wife and daughter, there was nothing he loved more than working on drones, building them to be as efficient and helpful as possible.

Sadly, Dr. Green would not get to enjoy his wife for long. After marrying her at the age of 24, she would soon become pregnant, giving birth to a beautiful daughter by the name of Katherine. The birth of their daughter however would not go smoothly, as his wife suffered severe complications during it. While his daughter was able to pull through and survive it, his wife would not, as she died soon after.

Not surprisingly, my scientist was devastated by his wife's abrupt passing, so much in fact that had it not been for Katherine; he would have lost all hope. Even though he was now a widower, the birth of his daughter gave him the courage to press on. He was determined to honor his wife's memory by being as good of a father to her as possible.

The next five years of my scientist's life would be a rollercoaster for him to say the least. While he still struggled emotionally with the loss of his late wife, Katherine was a beacon of light to him. Her sweet smile and pure innocence kept him going during those dark times. If that wasn't heartwarming enough to him, Katherine even began to take an interest in his work. Well, as much as a young child could anyway.
