Note........
If you've watched Shiki, then don't be disappointed if the timeline/this fanfic doesn't fit with the anime, though it will be loosely based on it. We're not really bothered to watch the whole anime again basically because we're.......well, not bothered and we don't want to do it word for word and because of other stuff. So enjoy.

I stared at my pale bare arm for some time. There was no bite mark, no nothing. Just pale skin.
Guess it healed overnight, I thought to myself.Or maybe, there wasn't any bite mark?
Darkness engulfed my room as I closed the blinds before lying on my bed. My mind began to wonder back to the beginning, when I first arrived here in Sotoba. Well, I've been here before but that was when I was young and I really don't remember much.
Flashback........
A smiled was plastered over my face when my grandmother greeted me at the bus stop. She led me to a small house. It was nice and simple. There was a lovely garden in the front. I was led to a spacious room. Lying on the bed was my grandfather. He suffered from, well, old age I guess. He had trouble walking as well as moving his entire body. They were both happy to have me live with them. I guess it's because I was their first grandchild and maybe they were lonely.
I was given room of my own. After unpacking and cleaning my room, my grandmother knocked on my door.
"Come in," I called out to her.
"Arisu, you have a special visitor-"
I looked at her when she didn't finish her sentence.
"Is everything okay?" I asked.
"Arisu, why is your room so dark? Open the blinds," she said.
"Oh don't worry grandmother, I like it this way," I told her.
She just smiled in reply.
"Oh, yes. You have a special visitor. Hurry up, he's waiting for you," she said before closing the door.
Special visitor? He? I wondered what she meant by that. I clearly remember that I didn't know anyone from this village, let alone met anyone since my arrival.
Before leaving my room, I changed into more comfortable clothes. I wore a black and grey striped long sleeved top inside with a dark purple sleeveless hoodie over it and black stockings underneath my pale brown shorts. I had an average slim figure of a 15 year old, though I was a bit shorter. I had dark blue shoulder length hair with long bangs in the front, which covered my eyes but I always tie it up when necessary.
When I got to the living room, my eyes made contact with a pair of light brown eyes. A boy with blonde hair and fair skin sat in the living room smiling back at me.
"Hi, Arisu-chan,"he casually greeted me.Timeskip.............
We were walking side by side. My dark brown eyes would casually gaze at the country side and the lovely colours of nature and its beautiful surroundings. By now it was midday.
"You probably don't remember me?" He started.
I glanced at him, studying his face while trying to remember or find anything familiar about him but to no avail.
"Hm, don't worry. You were really young back then, I mean I am three years older than you," he continued on.
"Sorry that I can't remember you. I have a really bad memory. Like really bad. I guess that's what happens when you try to forget things. You end up forgetting other stuff as well," I said.
"So you can talk,"he said looking at me.
My face heated up as I blushed. I bowed my head letting my bangs cover the blush on my face.
"No that's okay, it's just that you seem so different from before. You're like a whole new person,"
What he said caught my attention.
"What do you mean, um M-m-utou right?"
"You make me feel like I'm a stranger but that's okay. I'd prefer it if you just called me by my first name,"
"Which is?"
"Huh?"
"Your first name?"
"Wow, you weren't kidding when you said you had a bad memory. It's Tooru,"
"Okay, Tooru-San,"
He looked a bit disappointed when I added san after his name.
"Uhhhhh, Tooru-kun?"
"Yep, much better. Though back then you'd always call me Tooru-niichan,"he said smiling.
After hearing him say that, my face began to heat up again.
"Anyways, what sort of person was I?"I asked, changing the subject.
"Hmmm, well, you were quite tough and straight forward. You were always easy to read because of your facial expressions. Most of the girls......well, they were scared of you and you never get along with them. Once, you actually beat up Megumi-chan because she made you mad. I guess you were very tomboyish back then. In fact, you dressed up as one and acted as one that most of the villagers mistook you for a boy but now, now you're different,"he said nostalgically.
I felt a pang of guilt hit me hard in the chest. Though my face didn't show it, I actually felt sorry for him. I felt sorry because I wasn't the person he used to know. But the past is in the past and there's nothing I could do about it.
"So, what are your hobbies?"
"Let's see. Well, it would be meeting new people, hanging out with friends and mostly playing video games,"
"Wait video games? You have video games?"I asked while trying to hide my excitement.
"You want to come over tonight and play?"he offered.
"Sure, why not," I responded while folding my arms across my chest and facing away from him. Tooru just laughed at my reaction.
As we were walking, a castle, or maybe it was a mansion, had caught my sight. It stood high up on a hill, as if it was watching over the village.
"Hey, Tooru-kun?"
"Yeah?"
"What's that place?"
"Oh, that's an old abandoned castle but I heard some family will be moving there some time,"
Upon glancing at the caste once more, a movement caught my eyes. Quickly, I brushed away midnight blue strands of hair from my eyes to see better but whatever I saw was gone.Timeskip..........
"Wow Arisu-chan, I never knew you were good at games,"Tooru-kun complimented me.
"What can I say, I'm a pro," I replied sticking my nose up high. "It's not like you can beat me or anything,"
"Is that so?"
"It is so,"
"Ready for round two,"
"I was born ready, Tooru-kun,"
I paused a bit as an idea popped into my head.
"How about a wager?"
"A wager?"
"Yeah, if I win, you'll be my butler for as long as I stay here,"
"How about me?"
"Well.......I don't know? How about you chose?"
"Okay, let's see. Oh, if I win, you'll tell me everything about yourself. Everything, that includes secrets as well,"
I thought about what he said and it worried me a bit but I was confident in my game skills, so we shook on it.
After a few minutes of playing, my hopes went up high. I was winning and I was going to get a new butler. A smirk grew on my face as I was about to win. Victory was going to be mine but that all went down the drain when I felt a presence move closer to me. Irritation and agitation was burning within me as the older male shuffled closer to me with an innocent look on his face as if nothing was happening. My right eye twitched with annoyance at his actions but two words on the screen made my face turn as red as a tomato.
"Game over!" The voice form the TV announced.
My body froze there not moving at all except for my eye that kept twitching. Tooru smiled as he leaned closer to me, his face inches from mine.
"So I guess I won, A-ri-su-chan," he teased.
I clenched my fists and abruptly turned to face him, but I later realised my mistake when the distance between us closed as our lips were against each other. My face turned redder than before but what made the situation worse, was that someone had opened the door.
