"Heidi..."

"Yes, dear?"

"I got a letter in the mail today."

"...what did it say?"

"Best you come over and see it for yourself."

"I'll be there as soon as possible, Roger!"

Heidi hung up the phone before another word could be said. She threw on her coat, and bolted out the door to her car. She hopped in, worried about what Roger's letter could have possibly said. What if it was some sort of death threat against him? It wouldn't be to far fetched to think someone would threaten a member of a such a well-known band such as, Pink Floyd. Heidi shook the thought from her head. Maybe Roger got something good in the mail. Maybe it was so unbelievably amazing that he was too stunned to believe it!

Heidi soon arrived at Roger's house. Every curtain in his house was closed. That couldn't be good. The sliver of hope for the letter being good news, fled Heidi's mind. She got out of her car, walked up to the steps, and promptly knocked on the door. Roger opened it and invited Heidi inside. Heidi noticed that Roger made sure to lock his door after she'd entered.

"So you said you got a letter?" Heidi inquired.

Roger turned and looked at her abruptly.

"Heidi, you're not safe here...or anywhere for that matter," he told her.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

He handed her the letter.

Dear Baby Love Roger Waters,
No matter what I've done, no matter how many shows of yours I've gone to, you never care about me. Ever since I met you at the cafe, I've been in love with you. I was always your biggest fan, and that made me an even bigger one. I thought you'd remember me. No, I was wrong. I'm just another fan to you aren't I? I guess you could say I'm just another brick in the wall. I thought we had something. Truly, I did. I've seen you with her. Heidi Jamison. I do my research, Roger. I know more than you'd ever think I did. She doesn't deserve you. I do. And I won't let her get in my way. Nothing will get in my way. So choose, Roger. It's me or her. I would choose me, because that's your only option anyways. Choose her, and you'll lose her. Either let her go, or she's dead. It's not that difficult. You have a week, Roger. A week.

With love, Mary

"I-I don't know what to say!" Heidi exclaimed.

"I think I might have a plan," Roger replied.

"And what would that happen to be?" Heidi questioned.

"I'm going to fake my death," Roger said simply.

"What? No! Roger, that can't be a good idea," Heidi said, "what if I faked mine instead?"

"That would give Mary all the more reason to make me fall in love with her," Roger responded, "I promise you, Heidi, this is the best way to escape her plan."

"But what about your career, Roger?" Heidi tried to reason, "what about the band?"

"Your life is worth more," Roger sighed.

"I'm not going to be the reason you give up everything," Heidi stated.

"Please, Heidi," Roger tried to reason.

"Do you even know who this 'Mary' is?" Heidi asked, "why don't we go to the police?"

"I do," Roger sighed, "and there's no way we could get help from the police."

"Why not?"

"She works for them."

"Of course she does. OF COURSE!" Heidi yelled.

"Just let me go, Rog," Heidi whispered.

"No, I know what I'm doing and I'm going to make sure Mary is put to an end," Roger said.

"But faking your death? Hiding for the rest of your life?"

"It will only be until we can prove her wrong." Roger stated.

"Fine. If you're sure this crazy plan will work then I have no choice but to let you do it," Heidi replied.

"I promise everything will work out," Roger pulled her in for a hug.

"I love you, Roger"

"I love you too, Heidi"
