It felt as if the weight of the shocking news might crush Hazel. She couldn't process it—couldn't fully believe it—but deep down, she knew they wouldn't lie to her. If they wanted her gone, she would've been dead by now, spared nothing but their cold mercy.
"I... I don't know what to believe right now," Hazel admitted, her voice strained with worry and stress, her mind spinning. The two men noticed, their concern palpable.
"Hey, Hazel. Look at me." David's voice was calm but firm as he gently lifted her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. "I know this is a lot to take in, but listen to me. You wouldn't be here right now—alive and standing—if we didn't believe in you. Your mom and your brother? They wouldn't be living their lives as they are now. Despite all the chaos, they're still here. You're still here."
Hazel stayed silent, the weight of his words sinking in slowly. Her mind raced, trying to process everything—her past, her secrets, the danger surrounding her—but David's steady gaze grounded her.
"I know it's hard," he continued, his voice softer now. "Believe me, I've been where you are. But at least be thankful that you're alive. You're still breathing, still fighting. That's something."
She stayed quiet for a long moment, letting the words settle deep in her chest. Slowly, she nodded, her breath shaky but steadying.
"Good," Eren's voice suddenly broke through the moment, causing both David and Hazel to look toward him. His smirk was mischievous, but there was something else in his eyes—a sense of urgency, as if the moment had arrived. "I guess it's time to show you a few things. Huh?"
Hazel felt her pulse quicken, the weight of what was to come pressing on her chest. She wasn't sure if she was ready, but one thing was certain: there was no turning back now.

Hazel walked downstairs, her hair pulled back into a simple bun, dressed in a black hoodie and grey sweatpants. She moved toward David and Eren, who were already waiting. As she reached them, she paused, standing there silently. The brothers exchanged a glance, both of them wearing amused expressions. Eren crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at her.
"As a vampire, you should at least know what you're doing by now," Eren said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "Considering the fact that we drink human blood, when it's safe, that is."
Hazel's brow furrowed. "What do you mean? I don't even know how to... how to be a vampire."
Eren smirked as he walked toward the kitchen. "Well, the first thing you need to understand is that blood, when ingested, takes over the nervous system. That's why we feel pain, touch, all of it. Our flesh is dead, and so are our nerves, but blood gives them life." He paused, running a hand through his hair. "We have quick reflexes, which we only use when our senses demand it."
