Heabom watched with pride as Teasung walked through the gates of his old school. It was hard to believe that the little boy he had adopted all those years ago was now a young man, ready to start a new chapter of his life.
Teasung looked around, taking in the familiar surroundings. He could feel Heabom's hand on his shoulder, providing comfort and support.
"Are you nervous?" Heabom asked, sensing his hesitation.
Teasung nodded. "A little. It's just strange being here, knowing that you and your partner used to come here all the time."
Heabom smiled warmly. "Yes, it is. But I also feel like this is where we belong, as a family. You and I, carrying on the legacy of our loved ones."
Teasung's eyes welled up with tears. "I miss them so much," he whispered.
Heabom pulled him into a tight embrace. "I know, my dear. But they would be so proud of you, of the young man you've become."
As they walked through the hallways, Heabom pointed out different spots where he and his partner had spent their time. They visited the old library, the art room, and even the playground where they used to play.
Teasung listened with fascination, imagining what it must have been like for Heabom and his partner to have been so young and carefree.
As they approached the classroom, Heabom turned to Teasung with a smile. "Are you ready for this?"
Teasung took a deep breath and nodded. "Yes, I am."
They stepped into the classroom, and Heabom introduced Teasung to the teacher and the other students. He watched as Teasung took a seat and pulled out his notebook, ready to begin his studies.
As he walked out of the classroom, Heabom couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and contentment. He had found a new purpose in life, a reason to keep moving forward, and a family that he had created with love and devotion.
Looking up at the sky, Heabom whispered a thank you to his late partner, knowing that they were both watching over them, happy and at peace. It was a new beginning for them all.
