While Kagami was busy chasing a bird around in the last episode, Atsushi and Dr.Yosano are on a train with Motojirō Kajii, a clinically insane bomb scientist with the port mafia. Little does Kagami know, the little mafia girl she is looking for is actually on that very same train. In fact, Atsushi is looking right in her eyes right now.
"My name is Kyoka Izumi. I have killed 35 people," she just keeps repeating the phrase over and over while Atsushi tries to figure out a way to save her. He decides to press the button in an attempt to deactivate the bomb... but it detonates it instead.
Bzz...Bzz..
Her god-forsaken phone rings again. From it, spills the monotone voice of Akutagawa.
"You pressed the button, Kyoka? Disarming the bomb in unnecessary. die along with the passengers."
Kyoka's eyes open wide as the realization sinks in. She realizes she was never really important to the mafia was she? after all she did for them. Meanwhile, Atsushi is panicking and trying to get the bomb off of her.
"How much time do we have?" he screams.
"There's no time!" As these words leave Kyoka's mouth, she shoves Atsushi away from herself and jumps out of the train. Even in these last moments, she repeats the phrase, "My name is Kyoka Izumi. I have killed 35 people." Then with tears in her eyes she adds, "I don't want to kill anyone ever again!" And so, she free-falls from a moving train passing over Yokohama's river. She's given up and accepted her destiny.
Just then, a white blur flies out of the train after her. Much to Kyoka's surprise, Atsushi has come to save her. Using his weretiger claws, he rips the bomb off her body; then he holds her tight as they inevitably plummet into the cold water below.
Once again, everyone is saved by the gifted members of the Armed Detective Agency.
Well... everyone except Dazai, whom Kagami is still looking for...
