"What if we distract him and jump out?" Emelina whispered in Kiara's ear, keeping her gaze locked on the man in uniform that joined them in the back of the moving truck.
Kiara rolled her eyes. "You're spending too much time with JJ. Stop talking," she whispered back and ushered those last words when the man turned to look at them.
The truck turned and entered a narrow road with a row of palm trees lined up. Three men stand in the middle, one with a German shepherd that walked around the vehicle in observation. "Alright, let them in."
The white boom barrier was lifted, and the truck moved forward. Emelina had her eyes searching the area, trying to find an empty spot to escape to, but too many securities were wandering on the lawn.
A man wrapped his hand around Emelina's arm once the truck stopped and pulled her out, along with Kiara on his other side, and walked past the gate to reach the porch of the big white house.
The front door opened, revealing a housekeeper with zero ounces of emotion on her face. It reminded her of her maid, Marylin, except she would have a smile.
The house had a lot of various items scattered around the place, neatly placed for display. Her eyes caught onto a thick gold necklace on a jewelry stand mannequin, but she couldn't stare long when she was guided up the stairs.
"Take them upstairs. The Orinoco room."
She was tired of the pushing and demands but kept her mouth shut since she knew obeying was the first step to survival. Another man led them to the room upstairs, and Kiara turned to him, "Why are we here? Who are you working for?"
"Dinner at eight," he stated, ignoring her questions, "I'd clean up." he told her and started to close the door, but before he could, Kiara asked, "Just tell me what they want!" And the door was shut, the lock clicking on the other side.
"Kie. Kie, what do we do?!" Emelina asked and pulled on her wrist so that they were facing each other. Kiara shrugged, "I-I don't know. They have this place surrounded."
"Alright, well, start looking." Emelina's eyes swept the room in search of clues. First, the window, to no surprise, was guarded by men protecting the house. She diverted to Kiara, finding her peeking into the wardrobe.
"Yo, E. Look at this shit."
Inside were two colored silk dresses in variants—a burgundy red and a dusty blue dress, with front hem slits and surplice fronts. Pick your size was written on a note stuck to one of them.
