Equius stretched as he stepped into the warm Splatsville sun, smiling brightly, adjusting his tanktop, the heat from the sun making him sigh and wipe the sweat from his brow.

He promised himself he'd finally get to work on his rank today, having put it off for weeks, not wanting to lose the rank that he'd worked so hard for. He was only a few points away from his rank-up battle too, so he didn't want to take any chances.

He took out his Sea-Cucumber phone, tapping around, quickly checking the news.

- Anarchy Battle Open -
Clam Blitz

He sighed and rolled his eyes, shaking his head promptly.

'Not losing my rank to that.'

He quickly went to check the stage timestamps, checking when the modes would shuffle around.

- 15:00-17:00 -
Anarchy Battle Series
Tower Control
Anarchy Battle Open
Clam Blitz

His eyes flicked to the time on his phone.

15:07

He groaned out loud, immediately regretting coming down from his apartment, the lively talk and the warmth in the air suddenly growing obnoxious. Equius grumbled under his breath, thinking out loud.

"I suppose I could attempt a series battle.."

He looked up at the giant battle tower, trudging up the stairs, shoving his hands in his pockets.

He shrugged, figuring it couldn't hurt.

Equius stomped out of the battle tower in frustration after only 20 minutes of playing, grumbling under his breath, crossing his arms angrily.

"Fuckin clash blasters.."

He sighed, figuring it's useless to complain, opting to just put his Tri-Stringer in his bag, and call it a day. He took out his phone again, going to look at when the next train would arrive, before-

"Hey, Equibro!"

His head shot up in shock, swiftly looking around to identify the voice calling out to him.

Then, in the distance, he spotted a very familiar painted face- the person in question surrounded by his team, all of them styling similar facepaint.

Gamzee. Top X rank battler, feared Flingza user, renowned for being absolutely ruthless during battle.

His gang was equally terrifying. A flawless team, carefully designed to counter any and every plan one might think of.

He reached and waved, causing Equius to gulp and stand up promptly, waving meekly, feeling a little intimidated, a bit of nervous sweat beading at his face.

Gamzee gestured for his posse to follow, walking up to Equius with poor posture, a lively, yet lazy smile on his face.

"Haven't seen you in so motherfuckin long, my man!"

He walked up to Equius and slouched over to level his height, wrapping his arm around his neck, as he was easily a head and a half taller than the blueblood.
