??? POV
"Hmmm....you're definitely not what I expected. But you're exactly what Rhodes Island needs now." I said to the now conscious Arata
"W-wait!? W-who & w-where a-am i-i?"! yelled the panicked Arata as he looked around the black void that surrounded us
"And you stutter too? Phew, I wonder how Amiya, Kal'sit, & Closure are dealing with that new quirk." I said with a causal expression as I floated over the panicked Arata
Obviously this got his attention & right before he could get another word out, I put my finger over his mouth so I could say my piece. Arara thankfully nodded at this & stood at attention despite his expression being that of a complete nervous wreck.
"First off, we're inside your consciousness. I mean it used to be mine but...." I said while looking at the gears shift in Arata's face
"Bingo! I was you before that whole amnesia thing happened & the before the incident that pretty much required us to be put in the cooler in Chernobog. And before you ask, no I sadly have no memory of the aforementioned incident so don't bother asking." I said with cheerful smile while I looked at Arata as he was about that the very question I quickly shot down
"Can....you come back?" said Arata with a now determined expression
"You need to explain that question better than that." I said with cheerful smile
"You know exactly what I mean! Look at me!!! I'm a nervous wreck that was the sole reason for Rhodes Island losing key members like Ace & Scout!!!! I can barely compose myself around others & frankly I feel like I don't deserve everyone's support-" yelled Arata with a tearful expression until I headpatted him
"Look....there's a good reason why I can't come back. And listen, you are what Rhodes Island needs. You just haven't discovered it yet. And hey! You're not alone in this!" I said with a hopeful expression while ruffling Arata's hair
"What do you mean? Can you please explain it to me?" asked Arata with a confused expression
"Well since you're very confused about this whole situation. I'll give you a freebie! I'm gonna be like you're spirit animal every now & then. Of course there are things you need to learn for yourself, but I'll be with you every step of the way!" I said with a cheerful smile with a thumbs up
"R-really!? Thanks! But....ummmm what should I call you since we're technically the same person?" asked Arata with a hopeful/confused expression
"Hmm......call me Ghost." I replied with a smile
"Why Ghost?" asked Arata with an understandably confused expression
"Oh well some people here & out in Terra gave me quite the nickname. Frankly I thought it was pretty a badass name despite the reason for it being created." I said while floated around Arata who was looking at me with wonder
"What was the nickname that people had for us, Ghost?" asked Arata with an intrigued expression
"The Ghost Of Babel." I said with a serious expression/tone
For what was a split second, the black void around us suddenly flashed white as the ol' nickname was mentioned. Arata was obviously startled by this while I whistled at the sight.
"Heh. Straight out of a horror movie. You okay there, bud?" I asked Arata with concerned as he picked himself off the floor
"Y-yeah. Sorry, that just surprised me." said Arata with nervous expression
"No problemo! Anywho, got another question that I can hopefully answer?" I asked while standing next to Arata
"Actually, yes. I saw a ghost with pink hair, black horns approaching me while I was getting ready to sleep one night. I'm pretty sure it was a female ghost." asked Arata with an intrigued expression
"Oh! Don't worry about that. You'll learn more about her eventually!" I replied with a smile
"Is that all you're gonna give me?" asked Arata with a flabbergasted expression
"Yup! Oh by the way, you're waking up. And I hope you're ready for what's coming next little bro!" I said while slapping Arata's backside
"W-wait!? Little bro? And what exactly do you mean by that?!" yelled Arata with a very confused expression
"Well.....I think we kinda died when you & I finally made contact here in our mind. Like....heart attack kinda death." I said with cheeky smile
And right as Arata could understandably freak the frick out. A blinding light enveloped us & I was again alone here in the mind. Heh, good luck Arata cuz you're gonna need it!
Arata POV
Medical Bay, ER Room.....
Ugh.....well that happened. Where am I.....what are those voices-
"DOKTAH!!! COME BACK TO US!!!" yelled Amiya with tearful expression
"ARATA!!! DON'T YOU DARE DIE ON US!!!!" yelled Kal'sit while she was trying to hold back her tears
"DOKTAH!!!" yelled Jessica as she was bawling her eyes out
Oh.....that's what Ghost meant. Ugh.....so that's what everyone meant by the fact that I was a completely different person. Ghost is definitely gonna make things interesting.....
"Silence!!! How are his vitals!!!?" yelled Saria with a fearful expression as she checked the monitors I was currently strapped to
"Wait! Everyone calm down!!! He's alive!! Look!!" yelled Silence as she glanced at the heart monitor & then stared right at my face with a shocked expression
Oh, that's Silence. I read a lot about her, she's got quite the resume. Although this is definitely not how I wanted us to meet. And now.....I just processed what she just said.
"ARATA!!!!" yelled everyone else with relived/tearful expressions
"Uhhh.....hi?" I said with a nervous expression
I touched my face & realized that I was still wearing my helmet. Well at least that checks out. Amiya really wanted to rush over to me & hug me. But Kal'sit begrudgingly stopped her so the rest of the medical staff could examine me properly & make sure I was alright.
A Few Minutes Later.....
"Doktah Arata is alright. Although we can't seem to figure out the cause of the heart attack. I suggest he stays here for further examination so we can pinpoint the cause." said Silence with a concerned expression
"There's no need. I feel perfectly fine. Please everyone, there's no need to concern yourself with me." I said with a calm voice
All that did was elicit a concerned/annoyed expression from all the girls in the room. Great....how do I deal with this-
"Simple! Just talk your way out of this situation!" said Ghost's voice
"Ahh....so that's what you meant by the 'spirit animal' business." I asked Ghost with blank voice
"Yuuup! Good luck~" said Ghost as his voice disappeared
Alright then. How should I proceed with 'talking my way out of this'. Maybe I can-
KABOOM
"DOKTAH!!! ARE YOU OKAY!! RED TOLD ME WHAT HAPPENED!!!" roared Blaze as he blasted the doors down with Red clinging on to her shoulder
"Uhh.....I'm alive. Also....can you please not blow up those doors the next time something like this happens again?" I asked Blaze & Red with a concerned voice
"THERE'S GONNA BE A NEXT TIME!!!???" yelled everyone else with shocked expressions
Okay.....I should've phrased that request a little better. Ugh....this is not how I expected my day to go-
"Use the force Arata....." said Ghost in a cheeky tone
"What?" I asked in a confused tone
"What?" replied Ghost with the same cheeky tone
This journey I've embarked on is gonna be a long one.......
