Gael's POV

"I'm Aaliyah Amarah Valleroso. You can just call me Aiah.I look forward to be friends with all of you." The girl introduced herself to the class.

Many of them my classmates stare at disbelief. Why, she is the rising archer, Aaliyah Amarah!

She smiled before taking the seat beside me.

Okay, I admit it. She's quite a catch. Her eyes were always smiling as if she's opening her soul to anyone. Behind that innocent look, she has quite a temper, too. I gazed at her, and I don't know if she's evading my eyes as if she didn't kick me earlier "there" though. There's something in her that's very interesting.

Who would've thought that the girl beside me is none other than Aaliyah Amarah Valleroso? She's slowly making her debut career in archery. She won several awards in World Archery held last year, and it was just her first time entering the said competition.

My father, Ernest Charleston, was a retired legendary basketball player so when he retired to the said sport, he decided to be the coach of his former team since their coach would be retiring that year. While my mother is a world renowned ballerina so you can pretty say that our family revolves around the sports' limelight.

Going back to Aaliyah, I'm beginning to be interested in her. The way she acted earlier, the way she thinks, she's far from all the girls I've dated. Many they may seem, but I've never deceived any of them. I'm a very honest person, I never promised them any commitment since i know I can't fulfill it.

I just stopped pondering on my thoughts when Mrs. Colton, our class adviser spoke.

"Another sports celebrity beside our very own Poseidon, huh? It's just two weeks since we started, Aaliyah, so I know you can catch up easily. Make this school proud Aaliyah."

I looked at her and she's somewhat puzzled and when she found out I'm intensely looking at her, I gave her a sweet make-your-heart-go-wild smile. I saw her cheeks went rosy pink.

I would have teased her more if Mrs. Colton didn't speak again.

"Class, I won't be teaching for this period since today is the opening of registration and your first meeting with the school clubs. I suggest that you pick wisely since you can just choose one club per student. Oh, I would like to inform you that all athletes (varsity) are automatically enlisted in Olympics Club. Please see posters displayed at all bulletin boards on the school grounds for venues."

"Hey, Gael! You will probably join at Olympics Club, right? We want to go, too." Claire flirtatiously said to me. She winked at the girls beside her.

"It's such a waste for pretty girls like you to sweat in the gym." I seductively smiled at them.

"Oh, so you don't like sporty girls, huh? Guess we have to go at Theater Guild, girls. See you later, Gael."

"See you."

I found Aaliyah looking at me, and judging her, she's a little bit annoyed. The people in the classroom started to group themselves based on their organization as they leave. I'm packing my things when I overheard Zoe and Aaliyah talking.
